I bought these because I thought they were just like my previous pair but apparently they were just a little higher because they rubbed my ankles wrong and I couldn't even make it out of the house. Had to return them. Hassle free return though.

Overall, I do like these boots. The size 8 fits a bit more like an 8.5, but the 7.5 I tried actually fit like a 7.5 and was too small. Despite being a little bit big, they are very comfortable and allow a good toe splay when walking, and did not require any breaking in. Wore them for days without a single blister. That being said, the insert isn't the greatest for multiple days of walking as my feet did get a little sore, especially in the heel. My one complaint is that they are HOT. I have never had a problem with my feet sweating in boots, waterproof or otherwise, but these babies DO NOT BREATHE. The waterproofing on these boots works both ways. It keeps water out, and sweat in; if your feet sweat at all, you will know it. Had I realized this before hiking in them, I probably would have returned them. Alas, it is too late now, so they will be worn for late fall/early spring, and winter hiking. I will have to keep looking for a breathable, waterproof summer boot. ... show more

I had tried this shoe on locally in a store but they did not have a size 7, only 7.5. So I had an idea of the fit but needed a smaller size. So I ordered a size 7 online. My package arrived faster than I expected. The fit was slightly tight in the width and top of foot, but I was able to remedy this by removing the provided insoles and inserting custom orthotic insoles that i wear with other shoes as well. Now they fit much better. I had a previous pair of Keens hiking boots that lasted me about three years before the soles came apart. I loved the width of those and the comfort. These are very similar but the top comes up higher and fit more snug to my ankle/lower leg which I love. This shoe hugs my mid foot more which I also like, and doesn't look like a boat on my foot. I have wide metatarsals that taper to a narrow heel, and very high arches, so it is hard for me to find a good fit. This is as close as I can get after trying on no less than seven different hiking boots recently. I will warn there is not a lot of air in these. This isn't a bad thing most of the year in NE Minnesota but I can see my feet getting hot in the dead of summer hiking. I LOVE the traction on these. They are very comfortable and nice looking. I have wide flat feet and the beginning of a bunion so it's hard to find women's shoes and boots that fit well. These boots are great! Plenty of room in the toe box. Wore for a few hours to see if I'd need a break-in period but it wasn't necessary. I stand on my feet 90% of 8-10 hours at work. My feet weren't sore or aching the first day. The last pair of Keen boots lasted me more than 10 years before wearing out. I bought these November of 2022, but didn't start wearing them until I needed to break them in for a hiking trip out west. I love the Keen fit and that's why I purchased another pair of them without doing any further research. In total, they probably have 25 miles on them, max. I am 2000 miles away from home, on a 12 day trip, and this is day 9. I am going to have to find some glue so I can finish my trip. Very disappointing. These boots feel so secure on. I was a little apprehensive to try them because I have tailors bunions on both of my feet from wearing shoes that were too tight around the toes. That is not the case at all with these!! I have found these to be some of the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever tried - and being an avid hiker, I have tried MANY. I got my usual size 9, and with some nice wool socks, was immediately outside taking on the snowy mountains of Utah. They are so perfectly grippy and have a wonderful, secure weight to them. Loved these shoes! Did great in rainy, muddy conditions on the Appalachian trail for a weekend backpacking trip. No slips, no blisters. I got my regular size and it fit. They are a little roomy for thick socks, but I have fairly narrow feet and had no issues. I liked that I had room to wiggle my toes a bit. Very sturdy and waterproof.
