  • Comfortable, Supportive and Wears Like Iron
Color: Black Olive/Golden Brown Size: 10.5
This was my first pair of Targhee III mid waterproof boots. I previously wore Targhee II mid waterproof boots but when the III's came out I thought I would give them a try. I have a fairly wide forefoot (D+) but a very skinny heel (AAA). These boots provide plenty of space for wide feet in the toe box but at a the same time the lacing is such that I can snug them up to hold my skinny heels in place without slipping. The comfort is excellent right out of the box and it just gets better as they break in. Ankle support is also excellent with lots of cushioning. The lace loops are more durable than the II's because they are made of leather rather than nylon. I wore these boots almost daily for more than two years with no sign of wear. I also wore them on a long trip to Israel, Egypt and Jordan and they stood up to everything that was thrown at a them. After lots of long hard use one of the soles finally separated from the upper and I had to bid them a fond farewell. I replaced them with another pair of Targhee III's and am looking forward to more years of great service and comfort. ... show more

  • Comfortable, sturdy, hikeable out of the box.
Color: Chestnut/Mulch Size: 14
size 14, std width. I unboxed these Keens and wore them around the house for a full day. The fit my giant feet well. I have a narrow heal and like a large toe box. These were as comfortable as slippers on my trial run around the house. Used them on two local hikes the next weekend 4 and 5 miles. No rubbing, not heal shifting. Great traction on unsteady ice covered surfaces as I have come to enjoy with the Targhee III. Although they look massive but they wear light. Great Hiking Boot. ... show more

  • Most comfy, but questionable durability
Color: Bungee Cord/Black Size: 12
Update 1/16/2024: contacted Keen supported support, they reviewed my claims and gave me a credit to purchase replacements directly from Keen. I upgraded to the Targhee 4. Fit the same same, subtle differences, appear to be a little overbuilt. I am a happy customer. Note* the Targhee 3 were so comfortable I recommended them to my girlfriend and my parents, all happy customers. Most comfortable shoes I own, right out of the box. I’ve hiked maybe 20-30 miles in 6 months in them now and I’ve never had an issue until today. The upper leather material at the toe separated from the shoe. Hoping it’s a manufacturing defect I can get a replacement for. ... show more

  • Give them a chance to get broken in and you won't be sorry
Color: Bungee Cord/Black Size: 10
When I first tried them on I thought wow these are clunky and boxy and I didn't think I'd like them. I put them on the next day and snugged the strings up a lot more than I normally do and went out for a couple mile walk. Then my impression changed to wow these are really solid and durable. I think the material for the uppers starts out pretty stiff but now they've pretty much molded around my foot and I love them. They fit just right in my normal size 10 and the toe box feels just perfect - a little wider than my other boots so my toes aren't scrunched! So you should check these out if you need a good looking, solid and comfortable boot. ... show more

Keen boots have a great reputation, and these are no different. Fit is great and they are comfortable. Would buy again.

  • The bottoms
Color: Black Olive/Golden Brown Size: 11
Keen always makes a good pair of boots. That’s been my experience so I bought these. They look really nice and they fit perfect for a size 11 foot. The only thing I can say about these that I don’t like is the bottom could be a little sturdier as you can feel rocks and such a little bit on the bottom. Otherwise they’re very well-made and should last me a long time. I like them. ... show more

  • Updated, totally changed opinion
Color: Black Olive/Golden Brown Size: 11
Update less than one month in: It's pretty obvious to me less than one month later that I purchased a name, not a high quality pair of shoes. They're doing the same thing the cheap Skechers do, coming unglued from the outsole. They hurt my feet walking on concrete floors all day, even with good insoles. The rubber is starting to separate from the softer part. Already no longer waterproof. It leaves me to wonder if Keen work boots are the same, or if they're made to a higher standard. I don't think I'll be risking double the price of these to find out. These may be okay for casual hiking on dirt, but don't get them for soft toe work boots or long walks on concrete! Original review left below for full disclosure: Only 3 days in and I've got to say, I wasn't expecting much for the price but I'm pleasantly surprised. I bought these for work, and while they're very comfortable for walking, when I've got to stand in one place for a couple hours, they do hurt. Not enough padding in the ball of the foot. The toe box is plenty big, and my toes have a bit of wiggle room. They do fit snug right behind the toes, but I expect that from decent hiking boots. What I like about them is grip on wet epoxy floor, can step on a rock on the pavement and barely feel it, and a lot of built in heel cushion. If they last longer than 4 months, they'll be a better value for the money than the previous brand I purchased a few times. I'm sure I can solve the standing in one place issue with better insoles, the ones included are paper thin in the ball of the foot. I'll update this review when my 5 monthly payments are complete. ... show more
