This was my first pair of Targhee III mid waterproof boots. I previously wore Targhee II mid waterproof boots but when the III's came out I thought I would give them a try. I have a fairly wide forefoot (D+) but a very skinny heel (AAA). These boots provide plenty of space for wide feet in the toe box but at a the same time the lacing is such that I can snug them up to hold my skinny heels in place without slipping. The comfort is excellent right out of the box and it just gets better as they break in. Ankle support is also excellent with lots of cushioning. The lace loops are more durable than the II's because they are made of leather rather than nylon. I wore these boots almost daily for more than two years with no sign of wear. I also wore them on a long trip to Israel, Egypt and Jordan and they stood up to everything that was thrown at a them. After lots of long hard use one of the soles finally separated from the upper and I had to bid them a fond farewell. I replaced them with another pair of Targhee III's and am looking forward to more years of great service and comfort.

The boots are declared as wear-resistant, high-strength. Cracked 5 months after purchase. I was very disappointed and upset by the poor quality. This is completely different from what I expected for almost $170. This fact does not negate the fact that the shoes are very comfortable. One of the disadvantages is that shoelaces are constantly being loosened.

Rubber on boots started separating after 2 weeks on the first pair. Amazon replaced the boots but the second pair started to have the same issue after a month.

The boots are well-made and lightweight. My feet haven’t gotten wet yet. Overall, they are comfortable and the wide size I ordered fits very well. I’ve only had them for a couple months of light use, so we’ll see how well they hold up after a couple years.

Within 2 months the seam between the sole and boot has separated. Definitely not a Waterproof like they should be. Completely dissatisfied and disappointed.

I had the plantar fasciitis and decided to get new boots. It’s working out. These aren’t super soft but take most inserts without shrinking a size. They are indeed waterproof. I switched to Keen after years of Moc Toes as heat is the enemy where I work. Other models of Keens are super ventilated and work for that . This boot, is not. This boot is warm and dry. Keen had issues with delaminates and these boots do not have that issue . Some guys expect a decade out of a pair with everyday use but that’s not very realistic. Keens are comfortable , have intended purpose per model , reasonably priced and available. Another reason I like Keen is they offer my size ,15. If you are above a12 in North America you know the frustration of finding your size of any boot. Keen has even larger sizes. Quick delivery.

I got size 9.5 in Black/Olive and it is beautiful. Very high quality. Good for manicured easy trail running or short walking. I am an Army guy and I hike a lot, and I know boots! This one recommended. It will take about 3-4 weeks to break it in BEFORE long trips or backpacking (in house, outside to mailbox or block, then outside trail 2-3 miles FIRST - break in gently so feet don't hurt). I call it a short trip, day use boot and waterproof. But can go longer and take abuse. They are tough and will last long term. Learn to lace them correctly and center that tongue. Try a 1/2 size larger for thick socks. PROS: Color and leather quality, laces easy, has a great sole and bottom (soft and sticky). Pretty! Affordable on Amazon $85 to $100 sales. Lightweight not heavy. Can wear anywhere. No toe jam. CONS: Warm, little sweaty so get wicking medium socks, stiff above the ankles (will rub above ankle on skin of outside leg and cause pain, and red abrasion if not broken in first), I feel almost every little 1/2 inch stone on front foot pad of sole as I walk, so get thicker inserts (it is too flexible and not enough padding) but has great cushion on heel). Good socks are a must. Some say damages breach the WP (small tears toward the bottom) - see YouTube.
