  • Great book for learners!
Format: Paperback
This book is exactly what I could have used in high school band. We had to memorize all of the scales and play them in front of everyone. This book with its great fingering illustrations would have helped me learn all of my scales much better! There are also useful pages for how to read music so you learn the difference between quarter notes, half notes, whole notes, etc. This would be super helpful for anyone learning to play the saxophone. There are also some easy beginner songs to learn included like Mary Had a Little Lamb, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and more. A fun page at the end tells a brief history of the alto saxophone, including why it's considered a woodwind instrument, not brass. ... show more
