As expected, my feet are steamed in this shoe. It is waterproof and warm, so will earn it's keep in the winter months, but any other time of year will soak your socks in sweat within 30 minutes. Mine came with a rivet un-expanded at the top hook for the shoelaces. Easily fixed with a punch and a hammer, but not a sign of spectacular quality control. I use these when I do my delivery job. I do a lot of walking, bit of running, jumping, whatever. These are as comfortable if not more comfortable than a lot of tennis shoes/sneakers/running shoes I've worn. They have plenty of support and do not rub my ankles raw, or at all for that matter. I wear longer socks with them for more comfort. They're breathable, flexible, and very comfortable. The first time I put them on and used them it was like there was no break-in period. It was already good to go. My only con is that on slick surfaces or wet slick surfaces, it has poor traction. I have to be careful in those moments. My husband has worn this boot for years so this is probably his 4th pair. I don’t think they are as well made as in the past but still seems to work better than other boots he has tried. His previous pair definitely didn’t hold up as well as they have in the past

Good price. Great fit for my feet and not much break-in needed. I hike 6 miles daily on gravel and some incline. These grip well. A little heavier than the more expensive brands but these are GREAT for the price.

I started wearing these at work to break them in a little and it really wasn't necessary much at all! They're real comfortable from the start and fit perfectly after the first week. No soreness from being on my feet all day as a rookie tradesman; at least none because of bad shoe quality. The only con using this for work is that it isn't steeltoed or steelsoled. I did have a screw penetrate through the bottom of one shoe, and thankfully no fleshwound. I guess I'll only be pending waterproof review for the left shoe, now. Haha ... show more

I loved the shoe. It does seem to come a half size larger. I can't say enough about the try to fit and return policy. Amazing experience. I've had several Keen hikers and they do tend to be a little narrow as well, but they are indeed rugged. I'll have to try a smaller size, but the quality is certainly present ... show more

When my first pair finally started to show the wear from age and heavy use, I didn't even think about looking at any other boot. I only wanted another pair of Targhees.
