  • Give them a chance to get broken in and you won't be sorry
Color: Bungee Cord/Black Size: 10
When I first tried them on I thought wow these are clunky and boxy and I didn't think I'd like them. I put them on the next day and snugged the strings up a lot more than I normally do and went out for a couple mile walk. Then my impression changed to wow these are really solid and durable. I think the material for the uppers starts out pretty stiff but now they've pretty much molded around my foot and I love them. They fit just right in my normal size 10 and the toe box feels just perfect - a little wider than my other boots so my toes aren't scrunched! So you should check these out if you need a good looking, solid and comfortable boot. ... show more

  • Falling Apart
Color: Chestnut/Mulch Size: 12
Have been a fan of the Targhee boots for many years and have owned several pairs. Sadly the build quality of my latest pair of Targhee III is absolutely terrible. A little under one year of very casual use, the rubber front toe guards on both boots started to separate from the shoes. I added a little glue to repair and return them back to use and now, not only is the bottom sole on one boots coming apart but the fabric along the length of the sole is also starting to come apart. These boots are supposed to be waterproof but with as many holes as they have these boots will not keep my feet dry in a light drizzle. I have been a loyal fan of KEEN boots because of their durability, quality, and comfort but the unbelievably bad quality issues with these boots makes me think this brand has lost its way. ... show more

  • Horrible quality
Color: Black Olive/Golden Brown Size: 11
Absolutely not worth the money. I don’t hike much but am on my feet all day wandering vineyards(my job), relatively flat and smooth land. This is my first pair of Keens and I heard great thing but let me tell you, they failed after 2 short months. As you can see in the pictures, the rubber toe started to separate and the material around cracked. I don’t wear them in puddles or tracking through much water but as soon as the material surrounding the toes failed, they were no longer waterproof and the simple morning dew was able to seep in I had to face the rest of the day with wet feet. They were comfortable out of the box but you simply can’t justify spending +$100 on a pair of hiking boots that fail after two months of regular but light use. I do not recommend these for any situation! Columbia, Timberland and Merrill lasted at least 3x as long and at a cheaper price. Super disappointed. ... show more

  • 3 weeks in and already falling apart
Color: Black Olive/Golden Brown Size: 11 Wide
I wore these for 3 weeks and noticed a few of the black side cleats were separating from the shoe. I am trying to repair with Shoe Goo but honestly....for a 120 bucks you expect a lot more from a shoe. The shoe has some great features (very lightweight and the shoe strings nice and snug) and they fit well but if they can't stand up to what little I do then it doesn't bode well if you plan to use these as hikers or for other rigorous activities. Maybe I got a bum pair but don't think I will be buying Keen ever again! ... show more

  • 3 shoes prime wardrobe review
Color: Bungee Cord/Black Size: 12
I am going on a two night 15 mile backpacking trip in a couple of weeks and my current hi-tech hikers are in need of replacement. I decided to use prime wardrobe, which was fantastic and I highly recommend it. I chose 3 top ranked shoes: 1: keen targhee 3 2: Solomon gtx ultra 3 mid 3: Columbia Newton mid. These 3 hiking shoes were among the highest rated I could find. I wanted a light shoe that was waterproof and had a big enough toe box to not cause any toe issues. Weight: the keens were only slightly lighter than the Solomons, the Newtons were noticeably heavier. I was surprised with this, because keens are usually big heavy robust shoes. Solomon is known for its comfort and roomy toe box and they didn't disappoint a good amount of space. The keens and Columbia boots were similarly adequate. There was an unexpected surprise with the Solomons, the arch support was hitting my foot in a bad spot and angle, it was to far to the heel and it made them uncomfortable. The Columbia's were much less expensive and frankly you could tell, didn't feel like they could be very rugged. Eyelets for the laces were rough and felt like they would eventually wear through, maybe on the trail. So the were out. It came down to comfort and price. I went with the keens. The Solomons were around $160, the keens were around $140-$150. I sent them all back and decided to get the keens in a half size larger. I actually got a very good deal, they had one color for $97 so I jumped on them, gonna end up mud color soon anyway. I strongly suggest prime wardrobe, especially for something this important. Hope this helped someone. ... show more

  • Very weak sole
Color: Black Olive/Golden Brown Size: 10 Wide
This is my 3rd pair, the 2nd pair part of the sole started tearing away I though maybe it was just a fluke, the shoe appears to be very well made and the 1st pair wore very well, so I bought another pair and 5 weeks later they started separating as well. Too bad as I really liked the original shoes. They might wear good for normal use but as a active older fella that moves around all the time they don't hold up on ground that is not smooth. ... show more
