Great boots as they are comfortable and very durable. Used these boots to climb a fourteener in Colorado in March 2026. There was lots of snow and ice throughout the entire climb and there were very strong gusty winds with a factor of (-5° F). These boots kept my feet dry and warm. I ordered my regular shoe size and they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. These seem like they will be perfect for driving a snow plow truck and keep my feet warm and dry while in and out, but if I were going to be walking through snow for more than a short walk I would either add leg gaiters or get the taller version of this boot. My only complaint is that the sole of one or the boots appears to be separating from the shoe straight out of the box. I’m not sure if it was returned and repaired or if it was a quality control issue. I’m going to keep them regardless and will add shoe glue if needed. I would also note that the actual color of the leather is much darker than the picture, but looks good in my opinion.     • Snow tires for your feet.

If you are new to Keen, here is the deal. They are true to fit and are of incredible quality. I stand on Keen shoes 10-12 hours a day with no fatigue. First time you get them, there is zero break in and they just fit. If you are new to snow shoes, let me about these. They use what they call Polar Grip on the soles and are a soft rubber (like genuine snow tires) and also include "siping" which is tiny serrations in the rubber that are again, like genuine snow tires. How do they grip so well? They actually have tiny micro shards of glass imbedded into the rubber. Yep, they stick to ice, in fact they are rated as the "grippiest" shoes without going to full ice cleats. Also in the sole is reflective metal foil that reflects the heat of your feet back to your feet. These are rated to -25 F. First time with "high top" shoes that are above the ankle? Here are some pointers for ANY taller boot. Do not crank the top laces tight. If you do, your legs hurt and you will walk silly like you have on ski boots or are a duck with backwards knees. Instead, leave the top several laces a little loose by bending your leg forward and then tying them tight. This way you will have some slop in the top part of the boot and your leg can travel and the bottom of the shoes still stays tight. Hope my review was helpful ... show more

I live in Montana, and spend a lot of time outdoors. My previous insulated boots were too heavy and uncomfortable after about 5 miles or so. These are perfect-- good ankle support and warm in winter conditions, but still fairly light. I appreciate the wide toe box. My feet feel like they can breathe, and they never feel cramped. Definitely my new go-to boot for winter and shoulder season hiking! ... show more

They are comfortable and fit well as most keen boots do. Problem is this is my 2nd winter with them and the stitching came undone around the middle of the boot making them worthless. In short they lasted less than 7 months. All I do is flag traffic so there's no reason they should fall apart this fast. This has happened to another pair I wear in the summer in under a year. These will be the last pair of keens I buy and I'm switching back to timberlands. ... show more

Love the men's Keen Revel IV Mid Height Polar hikers! I haven't had them long enough to really put them through their paces (2026 winter trip to Montana already booked) but have liked them right out of the box with very little break-in required. I'm new to Keen (and insulated hikers for that matter) but am a fan so far. Seem to be pretty true to size, but I stepped up a half size to compensate for thicker winter socks. Glad I did, they're a perfect fit (might have been too slopy if I had gone up a full size). Nice roomy toe box. Have read a lot of reviews on a lot of winter boots and this one kept floating to the surface. ... show more
