Boots are very comfortable. Toe box keeps toes from getting jammed together especially on downhill hikes. Waterproof. This pair is replacing my original Keen boots that finally wore out after s few years of many rugged backcountry backpacking trips.

These boots were comfortable for me right out of the box. Plenty of room room for my toes to spread some while hiking. I wear metatarsal pads for Mortons neuroma so I have a difficult time finding shoes that have a wide toe box that can also handle the added padding and wrap that hold the metatarsal pads in place.i look forward to the shoes loosening a little more so I can get a thicker sock to when it's needed. These boots have a very supportive heel that keeps your heel in place but still allows my ankle to flex when going uphill. I'm planning on staying with these boots for a long Grand Canyon hike next month. **********UPDATE*********** Completed R2R with these. The boots performed like they should and my feet are appreciative. No blisters (teamed up with the Sockguy's wool blend,thin sock) or hotshots. I began having some pain due to the Morton's neuroma about 10 miles into it but I was able to easily adjust and pain subsided quickly. The interior boot lining did hold the sweat in more than I'd like but I'm willing to sacrifice that for the ankle support and protection, as well as the flexibility of the outersole to allow my feet just enough flexibility to help my feet work as they should. It's been 48 hours since the hike and just some calf tightness and sore hips. I don't think I can blame the shoes for that.

I take a 2E to 4E width. I typically buy Altra sneakers and boots because of the wide toe box and zero drop. While these Keens aren't advertised as very wide or zero drop, they are remarkably so. I find them wide enough for me and without much of a heel to toe slope. They are serious contenders with Altras (for me). Like Altras, they fit great right out of the box. Walked around the house for an hour to be sure and they are very comfortable. I haven't tested the water proofness yet so I can't say if they are. The toe has a rubber bumper guard and I like that for protecting the fabric which could otherwise rip when I run into things (which I do often). These boots are very light weight. I love the color and the Keen durability. They are very light, feels like wearing a tennis shoe but with ankle support. I believe they run a little narrow compared to other keen products. I have a wide foot and they felt kinda narrow at first. But they have broke in great. I do wish the laces were a little longer and that the tongue went all the way to the top on the sides so they would be waterproof all the way to the top. Even though it's a mid, it's really like wearing a waterproof tennis shoe. The laces are solid and will untie themselves if you don't double knot them.

True to size (see photo). Upper bending great, doesn't hurt toes the creasing when walking. Good cushion, not too soft, not too hard. Looks excellent. Good grip in both cement and grass. Good support in the ankle and midfoot, without being too snug. Toe box wider than the usual brands, but unfortunately not enough, specially when it's a bit hot and your feet get swell. Pity
