I’ve been using this Rustark 9-piece hobby kit for a while now, and it has become an essential part of my workstation. I’m not a kid playing with toys; I’m a dedicated collector of Gundam models, and these tools are perfect for the precision work that building and customizing Gunpla requires. Even after assembling several models, the tools are still in great shape. Your average pair of nippers is a dollar or two more, and a set of tools can be around $30. Not only are these cheaper than just the nippers, you get a full set of model tools. I found that the nippers were perfect (I've used nippers, pliers, scissors, and my nails over the years), and are essential for anyone building plastic models. The knife is a DREAM, that glides through plastic wraps, foam, and sheet plastic, while it also does a decent job on plastic racks (though is NO substitute for nippers). Not to mention its also got a sharp tip. In addition, it also came with several backup blades, not that you'd need them for awhile. The tweezers were also really useful for applying stickers. I have shaky hands, and most likely arthritis, so it was really nice to finally apply an (almost) perfect sticker. They were also good at pulling a very small piece of glass out of my foot, just in case you want to use them in an improvised first aid kit (though you should always go medical grade). I found that I didn't have much need for the files though, so I can't really give a review for them. All in all, the set is a must buy. More professional builders or "elite" hobbyists may tell you to shell out for more expensive sets, but these are much better for the price. Everything you need for plastic model kits. The right size and packaging make it easy to store and get what you need out of it. I just tinker with Gundam, trash builds, and dioramas, and at this price point and quality it is great. Straight forward use right of the the box with nothing to assemble. While the materials may not be the finest of quality it does a good job providing the basics. I’m a few kits in and the tools provided have been nec, particularly the snippers (which I upgraded for like 8 bucks and got a set of two from another brand) (many good brands of those apparently) the sand paper thing I use a good bit to remove excess nubs which is at times entirely nec to make things fit snug or at all. And of course I use the tweezers to remove any peices I might put upside down carefully etc. still learning when and how to utalize some of the other tools. For the money especially if u can get it on sale it’s a good deal. I recommend better cutters tho cuz gunpla is awesome ... show more

    • Excellent starter tool kit that made model building much more enjoyable
This was my first model kit since I was a kid, and I'm really glad I picked up this tool set before getting started. Every tool I needed was included, and they all worked well for a beginner. The biggest surprise for me was the flush cutters. They were an absolute game changer compared to trying to twist parts off the sprue or using basic cutters. They made much cleaner cuts, reduced cleanup time, and made the finished model look noticeably better. The tweezers, files, and hobby knife were also useful throughout the build, and having everything together in one kit made the whole process much more enjoyable. Whether you're getting back into model building after many years like I was or you're just starting out, I think this kit is an excellent value.
