This is very helpful for a younger child who can't ride a bike fully on their own because of hills and getting stuck. It was pretty easy to put onto the bike, but we have had problems with it loosening at the attachment on the bike seat. The bar doesn't move very far to the sides, making it very hard to turn the bike without it moving the attachment and making the kid ride slanted. The other problem is that my bike seat sits very low to fit me, but you really need the attachment high on the seat or it will rub the bar on the back wheel and you can't go up or down the tiniest bumps without the bike completely stopping and getting stuck. The pics show how far it can go to the side and the minimum amount of space the bar needs over the back wheel (through trial and error). You can sort of feel when the kid is helping pedal, but it is a lot of weight to tow! Overall very fun once you work everything out. ... show more

(See below for update; original review titled "severely disappointed" follows — ) --- So... this arrived late, which would be forgivable. And it arrived in a badly-damaged box, which would be forgivable. And the frame's paint has scuffs and dings on it, which would be forgivable. All of those together would cost it a star or two... ...but it doesn't work. The one most critical thing a bicycle needs to do is — y'know — *spin*: The pedals go 'round, and then the wheel goes 'round. But the bearings on the pedals and crankcase on this are pretty completely shot; I suspect it was stored somewhere far too humid. The rear wheel spins fairly freely, but even after I applied some oil to the crankcase, it takes a fair amount of force for a grown adult to turn the pedals, and the crankshaft has a rattly and bumpy feel, which means that the bearings inside are just completely toast. The pedals themselves are pretty rough and rattly too, even independent of the crankshaft. I loosened the chain, but even with the chain completely loose, the pedals simply don't spin with anything less than the force of a grown adult pushing hard on them — my 6-year-old can't turn the pedals at all for more than two or three turns before giving up. So for the accessories and overall style, sure, five stars: It's pretty enough. For shipping damage, knock off a star. But for being an actual bicycle? I can't give it any stars at all, because it's unrideable. I plan to call the vendor on Monday, and depending on their response, I will update this review accordingly. --- UPDATE: I called the vendor today, and I spoke to a customer-support representative named Lance who genuinely sounded like he's from New Jersey. Apparently at the factory they sometimes over-tighten the tensioning washer on the crankshaft; and on the phone, Lance walked me through how to loosen it. I then oiled it as well, and the crankshaft now spins nicely. The trailer is now quite rideable, and I'm looking forward to going out with my daughter this evening. I've upgraded my review to four stars, and I give the vendor proper kudos for their good customer service, which is a rare thing in this world. ... show more

One of the questions asked is maneuverability. Well, you have attached to your bike another piece of metal. So keep that in mind, you will not be able to turn on a dime. But that's ok, that's not what this is set up to do. If you want to turn very sharply, put a child seat on YOUR bike. With that said, this was well made, fits at least one of our ebikes that has a basket (Trek Verve+ 2) in addition to our other bikes. Tracked well, and my 5 1/2 year old granddaughter loved it. She's not off the training wheels yet, and can get a little tired on her little Trek. She loved that she could peddle and wasn't getting tired. We were worried about her keeping her balance, but we didn't have to. She sat perfectly balanced, and didn't want to stop riding. The pink is less expensive than the white, which is a shame because we got the pink because of the better price in the event it wasn't a hit. But I would give this more than five stars if I could. ... show more

Awesome awesome awesome! I can’t count the number of smiles, thumbs-ups, and “cool bike” comment we got on the trail! We took our granddaughter on a 6.5 mile ride to a local park and home again and the addition of the co-pilot didn’t noticeably affect the e-bike’s performance—no trouble keeping it at top speed even with the extra weight, and we didn’t notice the battery running down any faster than normal either. Impressive because we live at the top of a long, steep hill and had some smaller hills and valleys along our path! (Idk if that’s a better testament to the Kazam co-pilot or the Aventon Aventure though.) My 5-year-old granddaughter cannot yet balance on a regular bike, but she was just fine on the Kazam co-pilot! It works great on my husband’s Aventon Aventure e-bike, but it would be difficult to attach to mine because my seat is too low. The other great thing is that the co-pilot still has plenty of grow-room in it too. For our 5-year old we put seat and handlebars pretty close to their lowest level, so it looks like it will still fit her for at least another couple years. She loved it so much; I wish Kazam would make a larger model for older kids or even adults! ... show more

We love this and it enabled our 4 year old to not be stuck in a trailer or seat behind us. She gets to ride along and join in on the fun :). Folds up conveniently too for storage.
