These kayak storage hooks work exactly as advertised. I installed them in my garage and they feel very solid once mounted into studs. The padding protects the kayaks well and they hold the weight without any sag or movement. They were easy to install and came with everything I needed. I did replace the screws with some lag bolts though. I like that they keep the kayaks up off the floor and out of the way, which freed up a lot of space in the garage. The hooks feel sturdy and well made, and not flimsy. Overall, these are a great solution if you’re looking for simple, strong kayak storage. I also bought a second pair to hang up my paddleboards. I’d definitely recommend them.

These are some very good hooks, and will hold up my kayaks well. I will agree with the other reviews when they say first of all, GET MORE STURDY SCREWS!!! The screws that come with this are flimsy and the heads will break off when you're screwing them into the stud. My husband used heavy duty nails to secure mine. Also, the way the brackets are spaced out, they only sit against one stud, they do not both hit a stud in height, so they're not as secured as they could be. But, I have lighter Sundolphin kayaks, so that's not an issue. It fits them snugly and holds them well so they're up off the ground. My only other issue with these is the little silver screw that joins the two pieces of the hanger together. It's a tad too long, so it sticks up a little bit and it makes me extra cautious when hanging my kayak on it. But overall, I'm happy with these hangers. I like that it has cushioned hooks so your kayak is not sitting against metal, and that it holds them pretty tight against the wall so they're not jutting out and easy to run into walking around.

OK, so, should be 4.5 stars. These are good, a couple tweaks and they'd be awesome. I don't like the placement of the small screw that attaches the upper and lower parts of the arm, if it went in from the side it would be perfect, as it is now, it would rub the bottom of the kayaks. I applied some stick on foam for now, let's see how well that works. Other then that the only other complaint is that the mounting holes are 2 inch apart, same width of the studs. But easily overlooked because I had a 2x4 laying around that I could chop up and secured them to the stud for support. I've been burned before using included mounted hardware so I didn't even open them other then for the attachment screws. So I can't say how sturdy the provided hardware was, sorry. They look good, feel sturdy, and gives me a little bit more walking room in the garage, I'm happy and would recommend them. Update: Like these so much, this year when I bought a third kayak, I ordered another set of hooks. Used the same modifications as before, some stuck on foam padding and a cut off piece from a pool nuddle.

Holds a 14' Old Town tandem otter, which also weighs over 80lbs. It was super easy to install, and everything was good quality. Even the hardware which I was skeptical of because of some reviews but the screws they sent me were pretty heavy duty. Even the drywall anchors all worked fine without any issues, and I usually have to buy a pack from the hardware store to use instead but not with these. They all worked fine. I screwed the center screws directly into the studs of the garage wall (after drilling pilot holes) and then added the drywall anchors for added support. I don't think you necessarily need the drywall anchors but if you have a heavy kayak like mine, it's good insurance in case something fails. Great product, and really helps with storage space. Will probably buy another set for my other kayak. Edit: bought a second set for my fishing kayak, a 10' Lifetime Teton 100. Again, worked great. Only issue was I mounted to a fance on the posts, and the posts were a little farther apart than I anticipated, so I had to put the hooks a bit further apart than I would've liked. This meant that the shape of the hull being thicker towards the bow and stern caused it to sit a little awkward on the hooks, but I used a couple of cam straps to secure the kayak and that solved the problem. So all in all, these are absolutely great, and have no complaints. 10/10 would highly recommend.
