Also BROKEN! SO sad. It has nothing to do with the joining of base to glass however (another reviewer comment). This is due to the horrible packing---and yes it is horrible-- they break with any jarring of the package because the glass top is immobilized and the heavy base is not. I definitely will NOT try again, and I am disappointed that I tried in the first place with so many people having had this experience. Don't get your hopes up that they will arrive intact! I ordered these and the matching cake cutting set for my wedding. I thought they would be high quality and I could display them in our china cabinet after the wedding. When I opened them I was a little disappointed with the low quality of the silver bands around the top on the Mrs flute. They looked like a low quality sticker that had been hastily thrown on. The lines didn't even match up. After the wedding I very gently hand washed them and the silver bands and part of the "Mr" literally just wiped off when I ran warm water over them. This is not the quality I would expect from a $65 Kate Spade flute set. I should have gone to Walmart and got a $10 set as it would have been the same quality. ... show more
