Nice product and price point. I've been looking for a fishing hat that has better UV protection and is comfortable as well. This hat fit perfect right out of the box. Ventilation at the top helped keep sweat down and let my head breath, while protecting it from sunburn and bug bites. Comes in a lot of colors to fit your style. Adjustable band if you need to tighten it on windy days and a neck lanyard to keep it close if you just want to take it off for a break. Pros: Comfortable an light. Nice UV protection, and ventilation. Many colors to fit your style. Price is about $10 cheaper than name brands at the tackle store with no ventilation or UV protection. Cons: It's literally a perfect fit for my head. I wear a 7 3/4 fitted hat. Most of my friends wear bigger than that and thought it was too tight. Possibly will stretch over time, but may be too tight for people with big brains ;-) Literally the only Con I could find. ... show more

Play it safe and protect yourself from the sun when outdoors. I've read that each time you get a sunburn increases your chances of developing skin cancer. This hat is perfect for me when saltwater fly fishing... I tan easily and rarely get sunburned, except when I'm out on the coastal waters; then I need protection. This hat is very light, stays on, has nearly invisible ventilation holes, and an adjustable chin strap for security. I greatly prefer wearing a sun hat to slathering on sunscreen lotion. It also has a clever design feature where the front and rear sections of the brim are stiff, while the sides of the brim are soft. This keep the brim from sagging over your eyes or sagging onto the back of your neck. It also prevents the brim from flapping in high winds. I once tried a "desert" type ball cap with a sun shield on the sides and back, but the soft/loose fabric flapped in the wind and drive me nuts; money wasted. This hat doesn't do that. I'll be wearing this comfortable hat to keep cool on sunny days, not just for the SPF 50 protection it offers. I got the blue one and love the camo pattern. The hat came shipped flat, so there were no troublesome folds to try to work out of it. It has a draw cord inside the wicking head band to adjust the hat size via a cord lock on the outside rear of the hat. I usually wear a 7 1/2 or 7 5/8, and the hat was a snug fit with no adjustment of the cord. (If you wear a large or very large hat, this one might be too snug for you.) This is a great sun protection hat, including for fishing. It is super lightweight, but the brim also has a solid, but flexible structure. I was surprised by how comfortable it is. Also it has a good universal fit, and fit my wife, 18 year old son, and me comfortably and securely. The tie string is nice and ensures it cannot fly off on the boat. Very happy with it. Also the ice color was good for all three of us. I love the quality of KastKing and have many of their products. Also was great how they ship it without bunching up the hat. Great Boonie. It's lightweight and great for a day when the sun just beats down. The vents provide nice airflow. The brim and material keep the head and neck cool and out of UV rays. All around great hat that looks good while performing it's job. Love the patterns. Might get one or two more to spice things up. Finally, the Boonie actually looks like the photos. The brim is relatively flat, but slightly floppy. The head part of the hat rides well to avoid hat head. And while some Boonies are super floppy, which is also great, this one is a little more flat as in the photos. ... show more

I purchased this hat for my son to use on his school's 6th grade History/Government field trip to Philly and D.C.
