While a bit thinner than a certain brand name staring with a P, they seem well made. I haven't had them long enough to put them through many tests, and I just use them in the kitchen, so I can't advise on using them in the lab. I have not checked the accuracy of the printed scale. What impressed me most was the packing. I have received broken beakers from other sellers, so I was concerned. These had multiple layers of protection -- outer box, inner box, and good padding between them. I think they'd survive being tossed around. For those on a budget or needing quick use for a project, these beakers are perfect. They hold up well to heat and magnetic stirrers make mixing a breeze. Keep in mind that the measurements are approximate. I also received a cute little 10mL beaker with my set that has proven to be surprisingly useful. While it seems other reviewers have had issues with breakage, my order was nestled within 6 (yes, SIX) individual boxes, along with bubble wrap, multiple layers of peanuts, and foam. All came intact.
