    • Excellent expansion for your canopy tent!
Finally got to use this camping with our canopy and it's a fantastic addition to our setup! It's a great storage room to keep everything in our campsite organized and dry, while the canopy area stayed open for us to use in a mild rain, which we did. It also stormed very heavily several times in a single day and overnight and there were absolutely no leaks found. Not even a drip of water made it's way inside. The rain was so intense that it eroded the ground under our sleeping tent and all the way through the canopy, so if this was going to leak, it definitely would have in this downpour. Our canopy was the angled leg type (not straight vertical legs this is intended for), so we had to improvise to make this work using bungee cords from the corners to the canopy frame to get tension on the top edge instead of using the velcro straps as designed. Fortunately, our canopy didn't come through the storms as well as this did, so we tossed it after the trip and are replacing it with the correct style canopy for this tent. One suggestion I have for the manufacturer, however, is to add pockets to the canopy facing side wall of this tent. We normally travel with an Ozark Trail attachable nylon fabric wall for canopies that has several pockets at both ends and find it to be really convenient as a wind/rain break and storage solution, but didn't want to enclose our canopy too much with both the tent and wall up at once. Having some storage accessible outside of this tent, on both ends around the door facing the canopy interior would be perfect! Additional sizes of this tent would also be nice to buy as well, so there could be different sized rooms connected to the canopy. While we didn't have any leaks, I was initially worried about water coming in through the window, since there isn't an outside flap overlapping the zippers. It would be nice to see this as well, but as mentioned, there were no leaks and our campsite literally looked like a river had run through it. While I have some suggestions and requests for the manufacturer, I'm extremely satisfied with how this performed and I'd love to see how this design evolves. I'll definitely consider 1-2 more of these as they iterate on the design. ... show more

Space is very small. Eventhough I checked the dimensions before I bought it & measured it once it was up, it is a small tent. I actually bought it because somehow I could only find the solid sides sold with three sides! It would make for extra space to put things or for a small kids mattress. The tent was nice overall and easy to set up. Keep in mind that if you want to use it with either the screen or solid sides that it will limit your access to the the screen room & tent - there is only one opening in either the screen or solid walls & it's in the middle of one side ( or at least w/ kamp keeper brand). So either use it without any sides or rig it to work. ... show more

Bought this to hold our food items while camping. It looks great and is fairly large and easy to set up. However, it tears easily, as a raccoon just ripped the side and took all of our bread items to eat and scatter about our campsite.

I would NOT use this side tent to sleep in! Not only was there moisture on top of it in the morning with dew, but the moisture seeped through inside the the tent and dripped to the floor. Thankfully, I used it for a small "kitchen " area, so I didn't get wet during the night. Put with only one window and the door with a screen, it doesn't have very good air flow. I'm going to research other sidetent reviews to see if others are better. I'm going to return this one. ... show more

    • Better Than Expected -- Seems Quite Sturdy
I have had several canopy tents, both professional ones for work that cost hundreds of dollars and cheap ones that lasted only a few months. This one was surprisingly more sturdy than I expected. First, the cover comes with wheels that makes it much easier to lug around. I also like that it came with sandbags (sand not included). It also has tie-down ropes attached to each corner with included stakes to put at the end of the tie-down ropes, as well as into the holes at the bottom of each leg. As I mentioned, previous cheaply-made tents didn't last very long and it was apparent it would be the case when I opened them... not this one! I can tell this one is much more sturdier than those. I have been able to set up previous tents alone (one person)... not this one. It took two people to finish the setup--I suppose a testimony to its sturdiness, and hopefully durability and longevity. I would recommend this Canopy Tent, but be sure to buy it from the maker, Kampkeeper, and not a third-party seller. The only think I may have done differently would have been to purchase the one with built-in bug screens; I guess I can always add some on (make does seem to sell the separately, though). ... show more
