These are awesome! Really great quality and nice pigment! I’m more of a painter but these are so nice that they made me really want to draw more. I don’t however recommend gifting these to a child because they do come with razors to sharpen a couple of the charcoal pencils! I like Kalour art supplies. I found their colored pencils to be much nicer than other brands which do not have popular names. I got this as an extra to have for traveling and was not sure how good it would be. CASE The case for this is really nice. Everything has its place and fits well. The pages turn inside of a single zipper case which I am not as fond of as the multi-zippered cases but it is still not that bad. There is a handle on the back for easy carrying. The fabric is tough quality and gray. COLORED PENCILS The quality of these colored pencils is as good or better than Polychromos and Prismacolor in quality of color and mixture of oil and wax. They will bloom if you really push the layers, but not as badly as Prismacolor. COLORLESS BLENDER This is a fantastic tool to be included. OTHER TOOLS The other pencils and tools make this kit the perfect starter kit to give anyone for drawing and coloring. Seriously. You don't need anything else except maybe a sharpener stuck inside the case. The charcoal and pencils and even the precise eraser you can sharpen are all wonderful. I am impressed. SKETCH PAD The quality of the pad is decent and a good starter to play with. SWATCH SHEET The swatch sheet has very slick paper in it. The pencils will color it well enough, but a better paper with some tooth might give a better idea of the colors. Still this is better than nothing and it works. PERFORMANCE I really love this set. I find that it is very motivational to draw and use color together- everything is handy and in one place. The only issue for me is that the pencils are not always easy to remove as you color due to the wide lip of the case once you get to the deeply buried pages toward the end of the case. THE BOTTOM LINE I highly recommend this set. It is much nicer quality than many others I have tested out. I can confidently say that even if you are an artist, this would make a great sketch/drawing set to take on location. MY RATING FIVE STARS. I got this set for my tween son, who is really interested in exploring various art media. He really enjoys shading, especially. This kit is perfect for him to experiment with shading with graphite, charcoal and colored pencils. The case lays out everything really nicely and the presentation is excellent. My son likes to keep his art supplies organized, and this is perfect for that as everything has a place. He’s been using this regularly to practice techniques he’s learning in his middle school art class and he’s really happy with it. I’m not an art supply expert and neither is he, but he says that he’s able to reproduce the same effects he’s learning about in class using these items at home. I really don’t have many negatives to mention, honestly. I didn’t give him the sharpening knife, so he brings those to us to sharpen and it works fine. The eraser is meh, but we have tons so that’s not a big deal. Overall, very pleased. It’s ideal for a young artist or someone just starting out. Product seems alright. Not the best quality but functional. Biggest complaint is that one of my pencils came melted(?) on the side and turned part of my eraser blue pretty much rendering it useless without turning the page blue. I hade to tape the pencil to prevent it from turning more of my hand blue. Not really sure how this would happen. ... show more

I received this from the Amazon Vine Program and am leaving my review voluntarily. This is a set of charcoal and colored pencils. There is an eraser and 2 gadgets (no clue what they're for) Zippered case keeps everything organized. Slight smell upon opening plastic, but once left out the smell dissipated. This is not a set for an advanced drawer or professional. It is clearly meant for children. $14.99 is around what you'd pay for similar sets at the craft store. ... show more

This is a great little set to gift a kid who like drawing, or a little kit to take with you. In my case I tend to be the one who "can do art" at work so when something needs drawing its on me. I keep this at my desk so I can have something way better than a bic pen and a #2 pencil to shade. Having the little box cotter has also come in handy when its closer to hand than a normal box opener. I am no professional artist, but this has helped brighten up quite a few things around the office as needed. The blenders and colors are enough to get some good shading. Honestly the kit is probably enough so most hobbyists to get some use out of. For such a low price you get a lot of pieces and the quality is there so worth it. ... show more
