We bought this fridge because of the huge coupon offered on Prime Day and were not disappointed! It looks amazing in our new wine bar, and keeps our wines to the perfect temperature (we prefer our chilled wines on the colder side). It is quiet, has a key for locking when we have younger guests around, and had a pretty blue light I keep on as a nightlight in the kitchen.     • Very nice
I was a bit apprehensive about buying this wine cooler because the bad reviews were really bad; however, I chose this at the last minute over another choice. The cooler was delivered into my garage since I saw the truck in front of the house and opened the garage door. Otherwise it would have been left in the driveway. Upon opening it I found it to be in pristine condition without a mark or dent anywhere. It was incredibly easy to reverse the door. My son bought a German made refrigerator and we had to buy a special tool to reverse the door. It took two of us 4 hours. I reversed this door in 25 minutes. When the door is reversed the company name appears upside down since the door is flipped, but I plan on using some fishing line and a hair dryer or heat gun to unfasten it. I waited 24 hrs. to plug it in and recommend others to do the same. Just tilting a refrigerant appliance and using it immediately puts unnecessary stress on the compressor. I was surprised at how quiet it was. Some of the negative reviews complained about noise, but mine is whisper quiet. The controls are idiot proof fortunately for me and really mimicked my old much smaller cooler. That said, no way you are getting 46 bottles of wine in this thing. With pinots and some sparkling wines I. managed 40 bottles, but you cant see the label on the bottles I reversed (cork toward the door) to increase capacity. I put in a digital thermometer and found the bottom temp is spot on, but the top temp reads 2 or 3 degrees cooler than my digital read out. Finally, the leveling legs are very easy to turn by hand and made setting it straight very, very easy. My first suggestion to the manufacturer would be to put the controls or at least the light switch on the outside of the unit. My old cooler has this and obviously I dont have to open the door to make adjustments or illuminate it. All in all I give it 5 stars and hope to get 10 years out of it, but with Chinese quality fade who knows. ... show more

I got this to replace my 9 year old dual zone fridge, that died on me last month. I was trying to find a good single zone fridge for my more expensive collection of red wine. I like that this is very compact wine cooler and can hold up to 30 bottles of standard sized bottles because of a small difference in the internal light configuration inside. Shelving is the biggest sore spot for ALL wine coolers, manufactures apparently are not aware that not all wines have the same size/shape, which makes it annoying if you have to jam in your fatter bottom pinots or champagnes and don’t want to remove a precious shelf. This Kalamera has removeable shelves which is great. I saved the wine basket from my old wine fridge and I was thinking to replace the slide out half-shelf contraption, so I’d have a spot for the fatter bottles, but it has a removable shelves for fatter bottles so that wasn't required anymore. The look is great, clear glass window with blue light shining from the top inside the cooler, and sits tall so you can use the top to store other booze in your bar area (some on the market are short and would be an awkward/low height). I like that the temperature setting is digital which is very accurate and the small digital screen shows you exactly the temperature you need. As a tip, let the cooler stand for 24h to let the refrigerant settle. Delivery was super fast, and I like that it was packed in double boxes with Styrofoam surrounding the smaller box, very well packed and I'm very happy with it, I highly recommend it. ... show more

    • Nice Wine Refrigerator
We have had three wine refrigerators of this size since 2015. The first one was an Edgestar with side by side doors and it lasted about 4 years. When it failed, I was unable to locate a refrigeration company willing to work on it. One actually told me to throw it away and buy a new one, so that is what we have been doing. So we bought a Newair unit (still available on Amazon) to replace it because the reviews were better. Unfortunately it only lasted about 4 years as well. When it failed recently, we purchased this Kalamera unit, again with the hope that it would last longer. When I was shopping for the unit, I thought the Kalamera resembled the Newair quite a bit. Once I received it and had them side by side, the Kalamera actually seems to be a clone of the Newair refrigerator. To say they are 'similar' is an understatement - the compressor and other components appear to be the same, shelves were 100% identical, etc. There are some very slight differences, so not sure if the unit is made by the same plant in China or Kalamera just copied the Newair fridge using the same components. Probably the former but at the end of the day, I really don't care as long as it lasts longer than the others. Anyway, we have only had the Kalamera fridge about a month and it's working fine. The unit does what it is supposed to and functions as advertized. Based on the track record of these little wine refrigerators though, I am obviously sceptical about the product's life.
