This toy was hours of fun for me and my dogs in 15 min bursts which is the average battery life. This has a few play modes and the motor really gets this little ball moving fast across hard flooring and moderate length carpeting. The only down side is my dogs quickly bit through the plastic and started pulling chunks out of it. If you have aggressive chewers this may not be the best option. I have had other automated dog toys made of heavier rubber but they were very slow so I expect the light weight plastic is by design. Now that the shell is beyond the point of safe play I plan on stuffing this into a larger ball for heavy chewers to get a bit more play time out of it. I would certainly recommend this for cats or dogs that are not aggressive chewers ... show more

This ball was a bit too aggressive for my pup. It was very violent and she didn't like nor did I. Maybe it would be good for a 70 lb plus dog but just too much for us. It spun super fast and aggressively.

This ball is a great toy for dogs. It works just as it says and spins and moves around on it's own. It is too large for most cats, so if you are thinking of getting it just for a cat, I would find something smaller. It is also very loud inside the house on wood or tile floors. Its a smart toy ball for your doggie! The ball has a built in motion sensor which will activate when your doggie interacts with it. After interacting with the ball, if the ball is not played with within a certain amount of time, the ball will activate on its own to attract the dog to engage with it again with lights, vibration and motion. Charging took a bit, but with a full charge, the ball lasts a whole day of play - a plus!!! The toy has two modes - a low mode, and a very intense mode (the ball goes crazy). The remote control is not needed for play, but is useful for hands free play with your pup. It is best to turn the ball off at night, so it won't startle a sleeping dog, and/or the family. Opening the ball is not an issue and is somewhat arthritic hand-friendly, just don't over tighten it. Overall, a great smart toy that's resaonably priced!!! ... show more
