Fits perfectly, has some slight play if forced to move, but has a good hold. Several mounting points for extra accessories and deferent mounting positions. A quick release mount is provided as well a few replacement wind reduction guards. Battery, buttons, and charging port are accessible. Well designed for functionality, a screw pin provides extra security preventing the latch from popping open accidentally. Looks and feels sturdy, protecting the camera from a hard impact if dropped. Rubber cover fits well and snug over lens protectors, w/o lens protectors the cover is quite loose. Just slide, lock, and mount.

I had this cage for only 1 ride before my x5 camera fell off my bike (due to other equipment failure, NOT this cage). I circled back and got the camera and accessories on a busy street. The camera was toast but still in one piece, with the cage still on it. Upon review of the footage, it was run over by THREE vehicles before the camera died. I have no doubt that without this it would have been severely damaged if not broken completely by the initial fall to pavement. The microphone wind muffs are a nice touch as well. This frame is heavy, with smooth contours and just feels like quality in your hands. Luckily Insta360 has a great replacement program, so I’ll have another camera soon and will absolutely be putting another one of these on. It’s easy to get on and off the camera, all ports are accessible with it on, and the latch has an audible snap and a thumb screw to keep it closed. It’s functional and beautiful. A little expensive on the front end but well worth the money spent.

Excellent item to protect your investment. I’ve used mine constantly on my motorcycle and am very pleased. I’ve added a safety lanyard to it just in case. I’ve ridden over 500 miles with this on my motorcycle. Works great and is an excellent product.

First, let me start off by saying I am a huge fan of this company and own many of their products. They've always been high-quality, well-made, and well thought out solutions to a variety of challenges that content creators face on a daily basis. This cage for the insta360 X5 is no exception and is probably one of the best currently available because of its design. The top and side mounted cold shoe brackets are extremely handy and keep most products out of the stitch line. They included microphone wind, muffs also work exceptionally well at reducing wind noise up to a point and they give you several replacements. Also included in the package is a quick release mount as well as a locking screw for the cage top closure mechanism that guarantees it stays put even on the most, unpredictable terrain. The X5 fits snug on all sides and is very well protected, and I like the fact that all of the access doors and the buttons and battery are unobstructed and easy to use with the case on. It's probably the best designed case out there at the moment with one massive caveat: The included rubber lens guard would fit perfectly if the notch on one side was not cut so high into the rubber guard. This makes the lens guard incredibly flimsy and pops off constantly. Whether you're throwing it into a backpack or a purse or any kind of case, the Reber lens guard will invariably pop off because of this poor design. The X5 has an extremely well-designed lens guard silicon case and I so wish they had made a simply larger version of that for this cage cover. The frustrating thing is that I think they intended this for an earlier design that had the locking screw on the top of the cage as opposed to the side. But they never modified the lens cover to accommodate that change. With a notch on one side of the lens cover being so high, the rubber lens guard doesn't really hold onto the case well at all and this is extremely flimsy. This is so frustrating because the cage itself is literally a work of art and so incredibly well designed. The rubber lens cover, however, with the notch being cut so high on one side is really just a terrible design. I hope in future revisions, they include a more appropriately designed rubber, lens cover, that would make this truly the ultimate option for your Insta 360 X5.

Purchased this for my X5. I’m very impressed. Be careful, this is specifically designed for each model. The camera fits snuggly and the clamp closes in place. I did not know this was quick release either which makes it even a better bargain. made of metal, this is a no brainer to anyone who has this camera. it does come with a ton of accessories which I have not had the time to look through; however, This cage and lens cap alone makes this worth it.
