I'm impressed with the quality of this guide on kit! The steel components are either galvanized (frame pieces) or stainless steel (hardware). The UBolts are VERY beefy. The uprights are sturdy (sch40?) black PVC pipes complete with caps. The install was easy, quick, and very straightforward. I followed the included instructions for placement on the trailer. The idea is to install the guides as far back on the trailer as possible, and within 1" or less from the boat sides. Make sure that your boat isn't wider in the middle that the back. If it is, you must adjust for this so you don't get "stuck" trying to back the boat off the trailer. The completed assembly is VERY robust, and I am fully confident that loading the boat will be so much easier now! Our lake has a constant high wind blowing straight ACROSS the boat ramps. This makes loading a real pain as the boat is constantly being blow sideways. These guides should help immensely. I won't know just how awesome they worl until next Summer when the boating season starts again, but I will add an actual use update to this review at that time.

These are priced right, built well, effective, and easy to install. At the 48 inch setting they are easy to see when backing, and have helped substantially while loading the boat in wind.

Fit was decent. Put on a converted jet ski trailer for a Jon boat. Putting the supports on was easy. The only real issue was the black plastic covers. The instructions are wrong. And the screws need a washer and are not long enough to start. So, had to compress the plastic with a clamp to get the bolt started. Bad details.

Working great on my trailer. Nice and sturdy. The PVC pipe is very heavy duty. My wife often drives the boat onto the trailer and these hold up to her driving, so that should say enough. No rust so far, though I did spray some galvanizing compound on the steel before putting it to use.

Read a lot of reviews of other products just like this. Sometimes I think the same product is offered by 15 different Chinese companies here on Amazon. Most reviews of all the others were so-so including this one. But, I was very pleasantly surprised at how this one came packaged in a heavy duty box with everything individually wrapped in bubble wrap and all the parts in perfect condition. This kit installed very easy. A lot of reviews show broken u-bolts. If you do not overnights things that doesn't happen. The kit comes with nylon lock nuts so they won't loosen up under vibration. Tighten all four nuts on each side equally at the same time until there's no play in the upright and stop. A lot of reviews on these products show rusting. I assume most of those customers are using these in a salt water environment which is going to rust anything like this in just a couple of weeks. Pretty sure these are not rated for a salt environment as the galvanizibg on them does not look applicable to that and the hardware is not 304 stainless steel. I primarily boat in fresh water and this trailer and boat have only ever been in fresh water so rust has not been an issue. These alhavr been installed for about a month now I guess and in and out of the water three or four times already. All in all a great product.

These work fine if you are not planning on mounting standard lights on top of them. The vertical PVC with this set up is 2 3/8" inside diameter, 2 1/2 " outside diameter. The light that are made for guides are made for standard 2" PVC which is 2 3/8 " OD. I had to replace the verticals with standard 2" PVC which was very difficult to put on the metal vertical guides. It worked but was difficult. Make sure if you purchase boat trailer guides and want lights on top that the verticals are standard 2" PVC.
