I use these earbuds when I travel by plane. The corded plug fits the jack just fine. It even works on the dual-plug jacks for the airline provided headphones. The sound quality is excellent, especially for the price point. The earbuds are very comfortable and do not fall out. They come with an assortment of tips so you can customize the fit. These are not noise reducing earbuds, but I really like how the earbud tips cut down on background noise (I’ll even wear them without listening to anything just for the noise reduction effect). I keep a spare set with me, I have never had a pair quit working or break but I have left them behind a few times.

These sound great. I always get these. My go to. Volume goes high but not enough to blast your eardrums out. Loud enough I would say for my punk and heavy metal. I’ve got no need for a microphone so I get these without it. I just like to jam out!! Does the job my rockin friends!!!! I like that they are so lightweight you don’t even realize you are wearing them and at this price it’s a win win!!! I always have extra. I recommend. : )

This is probably my 6th pair of these in 3 years. I'm really, really hard on ear buds. I listen to music and audiobooks constantly and if a pair of earbuds lasts longer than 3 months, it's a momentous occassion. These average 3 to 4 months. I had a pair of Senheisers that lasted a year, but can't bring myself to pay$70 for headphones that won't last over a year. At about $7 shipped, I can get 10 pair of these and always have a comfortable fit and decent sound. (These aren't those Sennheisers, but they're great for audiobooks which aren't exactly hi-fidelity to begin with.) How do a I break so many pairs of earbuds? I work with dogs. I own a dog boarding, training and daycare facility in Marysville WA. Dogs constantly want my attention and use their bodies and paws to get it... this ends up in a few tangles, snags and disasters... not to mention the cell phones and MP3 players that get chewed up, peed/pooped on and dropped in water bowls... these are great quality, budget earbuds but do they sound like earbuds costing 10X as much, NO... but will they take a beating and work for 4 months around a bunch of dogs, Hell Yes. A good compromise IMHO

Ever since my dog ate my $350 Ultimate Ears Super.fi5 Pros 5 years ago and I wept, then swearing to never pay more than $100 for in-ear headphones and buying a set of Klipsch S4s that got sucked up in the vacuum cleaner, then swearing to never pay more than 30 bucks for in-ear headphones and going through 2 sets of MEElectronics that both burned out in the right ear, I swore off in-ear headphones. For the past year I have just worn Audio Technica ATH-M50s cans everywhere, and whereas they produce beautiful sound, they are also huge and terrible for running or mowing the lawn (I can only assume they are terrible for running because there is no way I will be running unless chased by something that likes to stop and maul running things, in which case wearing headphones wouldn't be a smart choice). I decided to once again lower my standards, as is part of the ongoing process of being an adult, and made a deal with myself to try in-ear headphones again, but swore to never pay more than $10. I found 2 pairs that met this criterion and also had decent reviews - the JVC HAFX5B Gumy and the Panasonic RPHJE120A. Both products had such attractive names attached that I ordered a set of each. The short of it: The JVC HAFX5B Gumies are better. The medium of it: The JVC HAFX5B Gumies produce deeper and richer bass and the high end is cleaner and more present. I don't experience any distortion using them with my iPhone at max volume listening to Infected Mushroom, and at a more sane volume I can hear every string pluck, fingernail tap, and golpe de mano en la guitarra with Rodrigo y Gabriela (blame Google translate if you speak actual spanish and that last part doesn't make sense.) The Panasonics are still excellent headphones for being under ten bucks, but they worked some kind of black magic into the JVC HAFX5B Gumy, which is reflected in both their performance and the excellent name their marketing department gave them. Are the JVCs as good as the Ultimate Ears Super.fi5 Pros? No, but the JVCs are not in stuck in the intestines of a dog right now. Are the JVCs as good as the Klipsch S4s? This is hard to answer because my major gripe with the S4s was the soft silicone eartips, which would lose their seal in my ears after a few minutes, and, at the recommendation of another reviewer, I purchased memory foam eartips for the JVCs and have never listened to them without. I also put the memory foam tips on the Panasonics, and they were still inferior. Are the JVCs as good as the MEElectronics headphones? The JVCs are superior to the MEElectronics to an unreasonable degree. Remember that the JVCs are filled with black magic turned up to turkish döner box level. The MEElectonics headphones are apparently filled with toothpaste in the right ear. Are the JVCs as good as Audio Technica ATH-M50 headphones? The answer is NO, but you will look less conspicuous choosing the JVCs for the morning stand-up meeting at your mid-level office job and you will seem more devout during Sunday school because you won't be wearing large over-the-ear studio monitor headphones. Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose Gumy. EDIT 8/25/15 - Turns out my Klipsch S4 earphones did NOT get sucked into the vacuum cleaner as I had previously been informed. My wife saw them sitting on the kitchen counter earlier in the year, thought they were "extras just laying around", took them and started using them, discovered they were phenomenal, and "conveniently" didn't realize that they were the "lost headphones" I repeatedly asked her to keep an eye out for that were white and said "Klipsch" on them. She came clean this past weekend when I generously offered her my spare pair of Panasonic RPHJE120As prior to a workout. Surprised at the sudden reappearance of my prodigal earphones I asked for her to give them back to me. We had an honest-to-god fight about her giving them back, which she eventually did ("throwing" moreso then "giving"). So now I can tell you that I replaced the silicone tips with memory foam tips on the S4s and they blow the Gumies out of the water. Yes, the Klipsch S4s are vastly superior to the bargain headphones for which this review is written... BUUUUUUTTTT... JVC HAFX5B Gumy Plus Inner Ear Headphones are still a phenomenal cheapo simulacrum and I will continue to sport them during times of political upheaval and in epicenters of urban decay to dissuade brigands from unscrupulous acts of petty banditry. The S4s will be relegated to the good times - the milk and honey times - the times my wife does not have them.

I go through earphones relatively quickly, so I don't like to spend much money on them. The first pair of earphones I ordered worked wonderfully and lasted around six months (which for me is very impressive). They sounded good, looked pretty, and were an amazing price. The last two pairs weren't so great. I instantly noticed my second pair was made poorly, with some flawed plastic edges that just didn't look right. That pair only lasted a month before I lost sound in one ear. Thinking it might have been an oddity, I ordered my third pair. I noticed at this point that the two pairs, despite being the same product, were entirely different shades of blue. My third pair was once again poorly made with the same problem of flawed plastic. The earbud section also seemed to be sticking out from the main exterior plastic at an unusual angle. This pair lasted me two months. I will give it one more shot before changing to a different product. The quality seems to have went down drastically and I would rather pay a little more for the quality.

JVC Two days ago, after all the wear and tear that is two months after the jack sleeve eroded, the right earphone has finally shorted out. So the earphones will last about 11 months to a year before shorting out. ==================================================== Review of JVC HAFX5G Gumy Plus Inner Ear Headphones... JVC DTS-03112015:10:35 Hello, RE: Review of JVC HAFX5G Gumy Plus Inner Ear Headphones... JVC These earphones were completely sealed in the original package. A close inspection revealed no alterations nor damage to the the product. I advise to carefully use scissors to open the package because the packaging places the earphone cord close to the edge, to where using scissors would accidentally cut the cord. This package had the earphone gummy earplugs which felt like a good fit, but I used my Beats - ear canal gummies instead. If you look closely at the product's image, you'll notice the design, the earphones is slightly tilted, so it feels natural in the ear. It feels so natural they don't even fall out. The product is lightweight and keep in mind it has no microphone. The sound quality is beyond exceptional. If you want these earphones for theater thumping booming sound -- this is definitely a pair you'll need! Also keep in mind that, these types of earphones depend both on design quality and the gummy tips. If the tips are too big, then they're useless! Since it has no microphone, they were originally for a good pair of back-up earphones --- then I broke my Beats earphones. The sound quality will place you in complete Zen or if you want to test them on gaming, such as World of Tanks, then I would say for the price these are top notch gaming earphones (with no microphone!) -- The manufacturer probably should label them as such. The arrival of the package was before the expected delivery date February 19, 2015 (I'm late writing the review.) So, after seeing this item on Amazon, I keep it listed as a saved item especially since I tend to go through earphones every 90 days. LU DTS-04212015:11:35 I've been asked several questions about the gummy tips or at least if they're comfortable. Many customers are unaware the gummy tips can be purchased separately. I am probably not the most qualified person on Amazon to write a review on headphones/ear buds, but with that said, I LOVE THESE! Since my children are kleptomaniacs regarding anything electronic that Mom has, I only buy the super cheap headphones - the ones available at the gas station, costing $1-2. This cheapness keeps me from losing it when my earphones "disappear" several times a week. I was getting a few other things on Amazon and decided to try these...and guess what? THEY ARE AWESOME! I love how they cancel outside noise and kind of create a seal in your ears. I love how you can distinguish between '80s rock and classic country with these. (Most of the earphones I've had made Johnny Cash sound like Axl Rose.) I am truly surprised at how clear these make music sound and how well I can actually understand podcasts and comedy now. It's like going from an 8-track to a CD - yep, there is that much of a difference. I am now a Gummy convert and will only use these. I have purchased an extra pair and I keep them well hidden. Bottom Line: These are fantastic ear buds, especially for the price. The incredible sound these provide make walking the dogs a true joy - allowing me to disappear into a cloud of loud, clear music, piped comfortably into the hearing holes on each side of my head...and keeps out the interruptions caused by a bunch of extraneous noise. You absolutely cannot go wrong with these - and their low price just elevates them to perfection. My favorites!!
