  • It'll do!
Not quite what I was expecting but it will work. If things keep going the direction they're in a lot of us will be growing food for the first time and I want to have every advantage I can as a newbie gardener. I assembled it by myself and it wasn't too bad. I don't have anything growing in it yet but I have no reason to think it won't perform admirably. ... show more

  • Cheap, sufficient and does the job
I was concerned before I bought this about the covering. I didn't know if it was solid plastic or just a green screen. Well it is clear plastic with the green screen embedded to add strength to the material to keep it from ripping so easily. This was a nice surprise, I tried to capture the plastic in the images, but it is so clear it only looks like green screen. The instructions suck. They only show pictures and say "assemble as shown in the images" The parts come in bags labeled ABCD etc. BUT, the pictures don't show what parts are used for what. I initially put together the sides incorrectly as you can see in the images. The rods fit so tightly inside the plastic shelving layer parts that it is really hard to get them back out, which is good and bad. Bad if you assemble it wrong like I did as it is really hard to take it apart. Once this is together you won't want to try taking it apart because the plastic parts will crack and ruin it. The shelves are light wire so they are not very flat, you use the included zip ties to hold the shelves down and in place. The instructions say the zip ties are for holding the cover on, but at the bottom of the cover in all four corners are sown in fabric ties you tie it to the frame with. This works but I'll probably attach some velcro ties with E6000 along the sides to better attach the cover to the frame for windy days. I'll probably cut a hole in the top and add a vent that holds on with velcro too. The cover is long enough that it hangs on the ground about 3 inches, so you can use landscape anchors to hold it in place if you want, which I will be doing. I found that assembling the two sides then laying one on it's side and inserting the shelf rods to be the easiest way to assemble the frame as you can see in the pictures. It made it easier to line all the rods up with all the holes, one shelf layer at a time. This feels like it should last at least 2 to 3 years as I won't be taking it apart to store it. I don't think you will want to take it apart once you get it together as the plastic parts where the rods insert will probably crack. it feels sturdy once assembled though. It is very light too, so you will want to anchor it for sure. Use the landscape anchors that have the round plastic circles that help distribute the load on the plastic better. Regular landscape anchors will probably rip through the plastic easier. ... show more

  • Great size for an herb garden
I plan to use this for an herb garden. It was quick and easy to assemble and is sturdy once put together. All the bars push in to the plastic rails on the side. A small rubber mallet will help get everything together tightly, but is not necessary The racks have decent space between them for small plants and starting seedlings. The top shelf has more room for the taller plants. The cover is a nice thick plastic and doesn't feel like it should rip or tear easy. The zipper for the door works well and doesn't get stuck or hang up. Can't wait to get some plants growing. ... show more

  • Really designed for seedlings
I wanted to grow large pots of herbs, so I picked this Greenhouse when it came across my recommendations list. It feels a bit cheap and during the assembly it is very obvious. That was a bit frustrating. After finally getting it set up, I bought the herbs in small containers. They did grow beautifully in there. The greenhouse does the job in that aspect. However, it felt rather rickety once the herbs started to really take off. That was disappointing. So, I had to get a larger greenhouse that would hold the larger pots without worries that a good strong wind would blow it over. If you want to grow seedlings, this is a great GH for you. However, if you want to grow more substantial plants, you may need something more structurally sound. ... show more

  • Nice solution to starting seedlings on my deck
We have a deck with that faces south and east and is perfect for starting seedlings but we don't have a big space for a greenhouse. This mini-greenhouse will be just right for starting my plants come spring. It's easy to assemble and disassemble. It's a nice size for a small space. It doesn't hold a lot of plants, but for my needs, it's just right. There's room for my starter trays and the adjustable shelves mean taller plants (like tomatoes) will have space to grow. The interior allows for good air circulation and it looks sturdy enough to hold up well on our protected deck, even when we have rain or wind. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble
This is a good size for a collection of seedlings. Each rack is far enough apart for the sun to reach the plants. The wire shelves allow air flow under the pots. It's very light and easy to move or disassemble if needed. It's not especially sturdy however. None of the shelves are screwed together. There are no tools used in assembly, just poles pushed into plastic end pieces. The fit is snug and will likely hold, barring severe weather or rough handling. It only took me about 45 minutes to assemble and that was with me taking my time. This rack isn't designed to hold more weight than a tray of seedlings, so if you're planning to use it for a different purpose probably should keep that in mind. The two zippers in front work fine. The plastic covering is substantial enough to protect from normal wind and rain. Oh, just an FYI, be aware that there are no spare parts. If you damage any of the parts in assembly there are no spares so I would suggest assembling on carpeting or other forgiving surface. ... show more
