What a great idea! These heavy-duty jumper cables use a Milwaukee M18 battery to jump-start your car (no other car needed)! Please note that the M18 battery is not included (you need to supply your own). I can confirm that when hooking up my M18 battery, I was getting 18v from the alligator clips when checked with my voltmeter, so it works fine. Since my car does not need a jump start, I have not tried to use this. Since I did verify that the current was available from the alligator clips, I see no reason that it would not work to jump start my car. The cables are nice and thick, and it is 6 feet in length for flexibility when using it. Two things to note: 1. These jumper cables will supply the full 18 volts from an M18 battery (it does not step down the voltage), so If your car's electronics might be sensitive to an 18 volt current, you might not want to use this. (However, I do believe that this slight o ervoltge should be OK). 2. Don't leave an M18 battery connected to these cables as these jumper cables do not have an on/off switch, so the alligator clips will be energized and someone could get a shock from the alligator clips! Keep the battery with the cables and when it's needed to jump start a car, attach the battery, then the alligator clips to the "dead" battery and you are ready to go! I am glad that I have these jumper cables. They give me piece of mind and are ready when needed! I keep one of my extra M18 batteries with them on my car's trunk. They are good quality and heavy duty, so I highly recommend them.

Ordered these Jumper Cables with Alligator Clips - Compatible with Milwaukee M18 Battery - 6ft 8AWG Silicone Wire - for use in my work. I dig trenches for water, electric, gas, and drainage problems and between multiple machines used, there are several batteries to maintain. It's always been a pain to have a dead battery in middle of digging and especially in a muddy area and can't reach with my truck to jump them off. Recently while shopping online for some new battery terminals for my walk behind trencher, I saw these different type of "jumper cables", and started reading about how they work and and their designed/made and it really got my attention. These nice heavy 8awg wiring cables are designed with a terminal hook up to fit the Milwaukee M18 18V Battery and these are what I use almost daily. I had to have these cables and placed my order. These are for sure a "game changer" for me. They came with a good heavy 8awg copper wiring w/thick silicone protection cover and also heavier, stronger grade alligator clips with copper jaws for excellent contact. I keep these in my truck & under back seat for quick & easy access. Now when I have a dead or weak battery on any of my machines, these are very easy to grab and use to jump any of them off. The nice part is they fit my Milwaukee M18 18V Batteries and fit them good and will start any & all my machines, including our vehicles. These are very handy for me. I like the fact that a small M18 "hand sized" battery will jump off most any vehicle. These are a must have for most anyone that travels on the road for emergency situations. I do recommend these. They easily earn a (5) star rating in my opinion

So these do actually work. You can jump a car battery with a tool battery. The issue with them is there is zero protection for the tool battery. I've used these in the past and once the vehicle starts if it's still connected after about 10 seconds, it cooks the tool battery. As long as you have a second person to immediately disconnect it, you won't ruin the tool battery...
