I am not a big eyeshadow person. Mostly because it's time consuming and I have hooded eyes so it usually just clumps up in the crease. I ended up buying this Julep Eyeshadow in Caramel Matte because of the positive reviews and I needed a light shade for my wedding makeup. The price for one of these is a bit higher than buying a pallet, but it is very good quality. The color is subtle and natural, it glides on super easily, and turns into a matte powder once it dries. It stays on well all day and still looks beautiful by the end of the day. It doesn't clump up and applies evenly, and it is easy to smudge with the provided blender or with your finger. Application with this is SO fast! It wasn't time consuming or tricky. It does still collect in the crease of my hooded eyes after hours of wearing, but it's easy to smooth back out with a finger (this is inevitable for me, my skin is so oily it makes my eyes burn sometimes!). The staying power of this stuff is IMPRESSIVE! In the picture above, I used antimicrobial soap and water to remove it, but it didn't budge the makeup at all. I had to scrub with a towel to remove it (when its on my eyes, I use makeup remover to get it off). So this stuff lasts! If you are looking for a natural looking eyeshadow that is super easy to apply and lasts all day, I HIGHLY recommend getting one of these. Hope this helps!

You get what you pay for. I was looking for an alternative brand to the other department store brands. But this one doesn’t last all day. It blends OK, I find that when I’m blending it with a brush it mostly comes off my eyelids and onto the brush. I noticed that some colors blend better than others. The colors are pretty and they go on nicely. If you’re on a budget, this is a great alternative. I love this style of eyeshadow. It doesn’t spread all over your skin like powders. It’s really easy and quick to apply. I like how you can use it as an eyeliner on the lower lid as well.

I bought the shimmery taupe. It’s not too shimmery but just enough; it’s a gorgeous color, I use it everyday. I don’t have a lot of time to do my makeup so this is perfect! I would say it’s medium coverage, which is great because it’s easy to manipulate with the sponge on the opposite end, or your finger. I’ve used shadow sticks in the past that are WAY too heavy and it’s easy to make mistakes. You can’t make a mistake with this pencil, it’s too easy to fix. This also works great as a primer for eyeshadow, your eyeshadow looks better and lasts all day on top. Great product.

Julep Eyeshadow 101 Crème to Powder Waterproof - Warm Gold Shimmer - was wary because I read some reviews about getting used products, but mine were perfect. Love the way this shadow applies, so soft. Very blendable with your finger or with the attached applicator tip. Wore it for over 8 hours in the Texas heat and had almost no creasing (and I usually crease in an hour), but a quick finger swipe fixed the barely noticeable issue. The Warm Gold Shimmer color in particular is really pretty - you can build it up for a night out or apply a smaller amount for daytime. I got this with Caramel Matte and Vanilla Matte and love the color combinations I can make with these three colors!

I have purchased the color sand. It was much lighter than how it is depicted in the photo. It is very gold though there is another color that is advertised as gold. I am also very pale and it didn’t look the same on my eyes as it did on the model with pale skin. Very glittery. I don’t know if I am ever going to find a use for it as a 56 year-old woman really thought I was just getting a little bit of shimmer. If I purchased another color, I would definitely get something in Matte family. Otherwise, the quality of the product appears to be fine. Goes on very smoothly and does not pull the eyelid when applying.

I ordered the Sand and the Rose colors. Very shimmery. Did not crease when I wore it and lasted a long time. However, I used a good quality eye primer on my eye lids and let it dry 30 seconds before applying the eye shadow. Glides on so easily, no skin pulling. Then I applied the rest of my make up and finished with a setting mist to set the shadow and the rest of my face. Will buy again. This is now my go to eye crayon.
