Description

The JT Eaton Insecticide Red Duster is a great tool to use in eliminating pests and bugs in wall voids, light switch and other hard to reach areas. This product can perfectly hold 1.2 oz of diatomaceous and 5 oz of boric acid. The nozzle is about 6.5 inches long. It features an O-ring which helps reduce powder leakage. It also has an internal spring for easy application and avoiding any leakage from the duster. It also comes with an end cap that fits over the adjustment screw for added protection. The end cap slides on the delivery spout and it will help avoid leakage during transport. It comes with a cleaning rod for convenience. This duster has a red powdercoat finish for easy identification. JT Eaton Insecticide Red Duster can be used upright, inverted, or sideways so it will allow you to have control during application. How To Use : To use this duster remove the rubber stopper and fill it about half full with your dust of choice. Insert the stopper and flip the duster over so that the rubber stopper is facing down and the metal spout is at the top. Now squeeze it to produce a fine puff of dust that looks like smoke. Hint: Place a coin inside the duster to break up clumps when you shake it.

This is a well designed and executed duster. I use Diatomaceous Earth (DE) to dust my garden keeping organic. The DE works wonders on most bugs like aphids, caterpillars, and even ants but it's completely harmless to pets and people. Just keep out of your eyes and lungs as it's a mild irritant. To use the DE I needed a duster that I could get into and up and under my vegetables canopy. This JT Eaton bulb duster is just the right thing small enough to hold in one hand but large enough to carry a bunch of dust. The rubber stopper on the top does a good deal to seal the top. There was no leakage at all. There was a small ball bearing included which is tossed into the top and can be used to knock about the dust if it clumps. The spring keeps the bellows opened. The wand is long enough to get some good reach and the rubber tip is a nice touch. In use the duster has been easy and effective to use. The bulb I received did not have the O-ring on the brass screw holding the clearing and metering rod. Also, the rod was rusty as if it had been immersed or cleaned and left in the duster. I think I received one that was returned and put back into inventory. That should never happen, in my opinion, but the seller is not the one shipping these out. (the seller is often not the same as fulfillment) This thing works much better than those large, expensive, "professional" bulbs with the various tips. The main reason is that the discharge tube on this one runs the entire diameter of the bottom of the bellows and has slots cut into it to allow dust to fall in. This way you don't shoot a stream of dust like those big bulbs or are just blowing air because the dust is at the bottom of the bulb. I had one of those and it went back IMMEDIATELY. Will this hold up? I'm sure it will since I don't plan on using it 24/7. The company made good on the product even though it was not their fault. THAT, was impressive. ... show more

It dusts pretty good, though you have to make sure you have more than 1/4 of the container full. If less than 1/4 full than it will look like it misses blowing mostly air. Maybe its just me, but when I press to dust I want to see a bunch of powder come out. I used this with the Terro Ant dust to kill carpenter ants and carpenter bees. It probably actually still blows the powder when less than a 1/4 full, and probably still more than enough to kill the ants and bees, but I was getting pissed by the carpenter bees eating my house. Boric acid & diatomaceous earth are effective, long last means of controlling infestations of virtually any crawling insect, including termites. The problem is getting the powder into crevices which they are most likely to use for ingress into your living space ... This works as expected. I was expecting it to be a little larger but that's my mistake for not paying attention to measurements. My husband has an easier time squeezing it because his hands are much larger. I wish the wand was a little longer as you can't really dust the ground without bending down. I bought it to spread diatomaceous earth, which you aren't supposed to inhale, and this makes it a little difficult to not be in close proximity to the dust but it still does the job! ... show more

Use this with boric acid those critters are gone. Secret is to use the bulb duster, very light spray and the bugs will walk over it, take it home, clean it off themselves, and die. Others in the nest will get this on them and within a couple of weeks you will see big improvement. sprinkling with a spoon or other method is too thick, they see it as an obstacle to avoid. place under sinks, kitchen appliances, etc where pets can't get to it. very economical to use as well with bulb duster. ... show more

This little gadgetdoes exactly as it says. It takes a little practice to get the pressure right. I'm using it for diatomacious earth, which one is NOT supposed to inhale. If you're not certain of the technique, I suppose you could practice with flour or something safer. I didn't and it really wasn't a problem. I recommend a light touch. The duster seems to be very well made. I've used it about 6 times so far, and lent it to a friend. She thought it was nifty. It's a simple, but effective little tool. ... show more
