Unless you can use it on a sturdy work bench, holes will probably not be as accurate. Make sure you got your project planned before you assemble whatever it is you want to assemble.

This tool has a margin of error that needs to be stated in the instructions. It also would be better with a clamp to steady it. I had a furniture project for my granddaughter to complete. The chests Were old mid century pieces with no knobs to open or close etc Amazon had Cool MCM handles, and legs. I was really afraid of the hardware, so I found this tool- there were no instructions which with tools- who knows- I didnt mess up but once out of 7 handles and that was minor, thanks to this tool! ... show more

Pros: accurate metal ruler. Cons: The plastic plate that is supposed to rest on the top of the drawer face can't sit flat because it it flimsy and not flat to begin with. When doing hardware on drawer. Stability is pivotal. The ruler on the center shaft is also plastic and not very accurate. Accurate measurements is a must in this tools job and accurate this thing is not. Because the upper plate is not stable, the moment you start drilling the bit will follow the grain of the wood. You will need a punch to ensure stability. I could go on but suffice it to say this doesn't do its job well therefore it's useless. ... show more
