Description

Wear just 33 items for 3 months and get back all the JOY you were missing while you were worrying what to wear. In Project 333, minimalist expert and author of Soulful Simplicity Courtney Carver takes a new approach to living simply--starting with your wardrobe. Project 333 promises that not only can you survive with just 33 items in your closet for 3 months, but you'll thrive just like the thousands of woman who have taken on the challenge and never looked back. Let the de-cluttering begin! Ever ask yourself how many of the items in your closet you actually wear? In search of a way to pare down on her expensive shopping habit, consistent lack of satisfaction with her purchases, and ever-growing closet, Carver created Project 333. In this book, she guides readers through their closets item-by-item, sifting through all the emotional baggage associated with those oh-so strappy high-heel sandals that cost a fortune but destroy your feet every time you walk more than a few steps to that extensive collection of never-worn little black dresses, to locate the items that actually look and feel like you. As Carver reveals in this book, once we finally release ourselves from the cyclical nature of consumerism and focus less on our shoes and more on our self-care, we not only look great we feel great-- and we can see a clear path to make other important changes in our lives that reach far beyond our closets. With tips, solutions, and a closet-full of inspiration, this life-changing minimalist manual shows readers that we are so much more than what we wear, and that who we are and what we have is so much more than enough. • I recommend to Everyone
Format: Hardcover
I give this book 5 ⭐️s because I think everyone can learn from this challenge and it helps the planet which is a plus. • • • Key notes 🔑 1. The average woman owns $550 dollars in clothing that has never been worn. We wear 20% of our clothing 80% of the time, yet 100% of our wardrobe gets 100% of our attention, emotion, space, and time. 2. Project 333 is a minimalist fashion challenge where you dress with only 33 items – including clothing, accessories, jewelry, and shoes – for three months. 3. Money, time, space, clarity and freedom are a few things that most people gain as a result of dressing with less and trying this closet challenge. 4. As a guide you start with 21 articles of clothing, six accessories, two pieces of jewelry and four pairs of shoes 5. Stuff and shopping won’t make you feel better. 6. The world now consumes about 8 billion new pieces of clothing every year. 7. 95% of discarded clothing can be recycled or Upcycled 8. The amount of water used in apparel production each year is enough to fill 32 million Olympic size swimming pools. Meanwhile, 1.1 billion people lack access to safe drinking water. 9. By extending the life of your clothing by an additional nine months you can reduce your carbon, Water, and waste footprints by 20 to 30% each. 10. Clothing made from conventional polyester can take up to 200 years to decompose in the landfill. 11. Making a pair of jeans uses the same amount of water as flushing a toilet for three years. 12. The average American woman wears 20% of her wardrobe. 13. The average annual clothing consumption per person in the US is 65 garments, According to the American Apparel and Footwear Association. That’s an entirely new wardrobe every year. 14. The most eco-friendly thing you can do is consume less by using what you have. Use it all the way up, and when it’s time to replace it, consider the following questions: 1) where is it made? 2) how is it made? 3) what is it made of? 4) is it timeless and made to last, so I’ll be able to wear it for years to come? 5) do I already have something similar in my closet? 15. Deciding what to wear causes decision fatigue implement one or more of these decision free recommendations 1) create a uniform 2) dress monochromatically 3) Shop less 16. By choosing what to wear from a small capsule wardrobe, you’ll get to wear your favorite things every day and eliminate decision fatigue. 17. Fear will tell you that you’ll never have enough. When you finish this challenge, you can tell fear that you do. The realization that you need way less than you think to be happy will change your life in the most amazing ways. 18. If you aren’t quite ready to jump into a Capsule wardrobe, here are a few ways to test the waters. These ideas will help you begin the experience of dressing with less: 1) eliminate accessories 2) wear are your favorite colors 3) keep all your clothes in one place 4) identify your favorite outfits 5) keep only one size in your closet 6) don’t buy for your capsule wardrobe ... show more

  • Read this and Simplify Your Wardrobe
Format: Hardcover
I have followed Courtney on Be More with Less for a good while. She is a very calming influence for slowing down and living with less. If you have followed her for a long time as I have, you may not learn a lot in this book. I did not, but the reminder was still good. I went to my closet and put amount 10 items in a give away box as I was reading! ... show more

  • Love this book and it's positive mindset
Format: Kindle
I was recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder similar to the author Courtney and I can really see how beneficial a more simpler closet and life can be, yesterday I did project 333 for myself and my daughter and my son's clothes ❤️

  • It's à sale pitch without details on the project
Format: Kindle
Basically, the author explains that minimalism is cool, the project is cool, and when it's sold and you're ready for the details, she starts speaking about meditation. Not good. In a book about fashion challenge I actually expect content about fashion. And challenge itself. Not an essay about philosophical or otherwise merits of minimalism in general. Project seems cool though, pity we learn almost nothing about it from this book. ... show more
