    • Everything you need for basic at-home waxing and tuning
This is a great kit with pretty much everything you need to do your own basic maintenance on your skis or snowboard at home. Doing this really does make a huge difference in performance when on the mountain and it also helps to extend the life of your skis/board. DIY isn't as good as getting it professionally done but unfortunately I don't have the time or money to take my skis in after every few mountain days, so I've learned to just take care of things myself and only take it into the shop once (sometimes twice) a year. My previous "kit" was just a bunch of things that I had accumulated over time. Some of the items were in need of replacing and this kit has it all and then some. The only thing it doesn't have that I'd recommend is a ski/snowboard vise set. This isn't 100% necessary but it really is helpful. I have only used them once but the items in this kit seem to be of similar quality to other items I have owned (some of which were off-brand and some of which were big-brand). The only thing I really don't know at this point is the quality of the wax. It went on smoothly and seems to be fine but I am just waiting for the nearby slopes to open for the year. A few nice bonuses included with this kit are the apron, the nice storage bag, and the instruction booklet. This kit is highly recommended whether you are just getting started with DIY waxing/tuning or have been doing it yourself for years. ... show more

If you are just starting out this has just about everything you need to start tuning your own equipment. The only thing that you still need is some type of vice or a way to hold your skis/board in place. The iron is really nice and heats up to temperature very quickly, I measured it at about 30 seconds to hit the stated temp when checking with a IR thermo gun. Of course it cools down very slowly so be careful to to burn yourself or the case by putting it away too early. All the tools are really useful and surprisingly the included manual has enough information to get you started on your own. I do recommend checking out a couple of youtube videos for some other tips & tricks to get a great wax job. Apron is actually really nice, it is made of a heavy canvas which is way more than I expected. I do wish that it had more pockets to hold the file or other tools but the one pocket is good for most cases. Everything fit back into the case pretty easy and there is a little extra room if you want to add another wax block or something. The only thing I don't love is the edge tuner in that the file just jams in and there is no type of screw mechanism to tighten it. Eventually when you put the file in/out it will eat away at the plastic and lose it's proper angle or just become loose enough that it won't hold the file. I have a separate file holder that I use with a diamond stone instead of a file and like that better. ... show more

I decided this season to start waxing my own skis, not only to save money but to learn a new skill. I was getting tired of dropping off and picking up my skis and spending money each time I needed to get my skis waxed. This kit is an all in one solution for waxing your own skis. The only things I purchased separately were the Joytutus ski vises and a different bar of wax. This kit has a nice collection of high quality brushes and scraper as well as several files and an edge tuner. It did include some cold weather wax and some PTEX for filling scratches. Very simple instructions but it helps to watch some videos. I did read it was important to use an iron with adjustable heat settings specifically for waxing skis and the iron in this kit worked just as expected. It doesn't take much time to learn how to do it yourself and this kit makes it possible with everything included. ... show more

Hands down one of the most complete ski tuning kits. The only thing you would need to add would be a lighter for the p-tex. The case is very well organized. The kit has all of the tools you would need to get started with excellent instructions. The iron holds temperature well. The apron is a great addition as tuning your skis can get messy. This kit has everything. I was pretty skeptical at first as I recently purchased a similar kit from a Big retailer, paying significantly more for mine with fewer items inside. This is equal to most of the other kits available as the national outdoor retailers. Wax, scrapers, file, edge filer, iron, apron, bag, ptex, tuning stones ... Three brushes! All of the items are good quality and should be great for years of tuning. The only thing missing is something to hold your skis but that's easy to make yourself. ... show more

Comes with everything you need to maintain your skis and snowboards. Nice carrying case to hold everything and instructions on what to do and how to do it. We will save tons of money doing this ourselves than having a ski shop do it for us.
