    • Good bike; installation manual doesn't match exactly

My friend's daughter has used the bike a little bit so far and it seems good and certainly sturdy enough. If we run into any problems after more use, I'll try to report them here. As of now, the bike seems to be good quality and is also nice looking. The installation/maintenance manual was written in very good English and was very thorough. However, the manual was for a generic bike and this bike was slightly different than the manual. The main difference was that the manual was written for a standard bike seat, not a banana seat, but after trying a couple different ways to attach the rear brace, it was fairly obvious which was correct. The front and back reflectors were a slight problem. The back reflector attaches to the neck of the seat, so I don't think it will be very visible given that it is under the banana seat. It would be better to have a reflector that attaches to the rear brace of the banana seat. After attaching the basket on the handlebars, there was no ideal place for the front reflector. I attached it on a diagonal part of the handlebars; it doesn't look quite right but it does the job. The instructions gave a list of different metric wrenches that will be needed to assemble the bike. The bike came with a multipurpose open-end wrench and an Allen wrench. For me, the multipurpose wrench was not particularly usable. I don't have metric wrenches, so I just used an adjustable wrench for the various sizes needed. It was a little cumbersome but did the job. I'm not particularly handy, so it took several hours to do everything, including adjusting the tension on the front hand brake. I spread it out over several days. I don't think any other bike of this type would be much easier. I'm sure a bike expert could knock it out pretty quickly. ... show more

Some of us may have kids that are resistant to learning to ride bike. This bike is perfect for some of us. It's one of the few bikes out there that comes with training wheels on a 20" frame, well packed, and super easy to assemble. The last bike I purchased from amazon was a nightmare and I spent most of Christmas Eve assembling it and it still didn't work correctly. This one was a breeze and the instructions were simple! Pro tip: don't use the included "zip" ties for the basket. Use real zip ties and save some frustration! ... show more

    • Instruction manual and videos are nearly useless

Cool bike. Just know if you buy this thing you're going to have to be creative with your build. It will take the manual, videos and pictures of the bike to keep it on tracks. Each aspect skipping important steps that you'll be stuck figuring out like a puzzle to get this thing together. Be warned though. They have the training wheels straight up and down in the picture here. If you do them like this they'll slip off track and scrape the paint off of the training wheel metal. There is a notch on the stainless washer-like piece that locks the training wheels in at a slight angle. Not like it shows in the pic. So look out for that and you'll be good. Far as wear and tear...we'll see how this thing holds up. For the price point I a would hope my daughter gets some serious use out of it. ... show more

My daughter got this bike for her 9th birthday and she absolutely loved it. It’s beautiful and she enjoyed using it daily but the parts continually strip the screws and slide around. The training wheels first, then the front of the seat kept sliding lower, the handle bars kept pulling backwards. now her handle bars have been messed up and adjusted so many times that they cannot be tightened any more and she can’t ride her bike anymore.
