At this price, you tend to have lower expectations . I li in an apartment and desperately needed black out curtains and thought if they do that , I'll be happy. I spent a lot of time reading reviews - so unhappy with store bought curtains in the past. These are exactly what they advertise them to be. The material is soft, smooth and heavy enough to hang so nicely. They did have fold wrinkles which were easy to iron out, well worth the effort. These curtains came fast. We just moved and we’re losing tons of heat with all of the windows we have. We haven’t purchased nice rods, painted or anything but our room isn’t freezing and our oil use calmed down. I’ve had thermal curtains from a name brand before and these are equally effective in blocking light, sound and temp. I also like them better because the opposite side isn’t ugly like some others.
