Josh's Frogs is dedicated to changing this. Visit the Store Perfect for constructing backgrounds and filling voids in terrariums, vivariums, paludariums, and ponds! This UV resistant foam expands to fill gaps and cracks, small or large, and is easy to use with the included straw applicator. The black color is ideal for uses in which appearance is a factor—much more desirable than the typical off-white foam you may be used to seeing. It also holds up well in both arid and humid environments. Ensure surfaces to be foamed are clean and free of debris. Apply foam in thin layers, allowing 12-24 hours for foam to dry between applications. Foam can then be carved to desired shape. Be careful not to pull the trigger all the way, or else you'll end up with too much foam and a empty can! Foam can also be covered with coco fiber, peat, or sand to give it a more natural appearance. Before the foam is dry, gently cover it in the desired texture and press it in. Or if you want to apply after drying and carving, use a black silicone. After 12-24 hours of curing, this product is safe for both live plants and animals. How much background does this product cover? One can covers approximately 2.5 ft2 depending on how thick or thin it is applied. This is roughly an 18"x24" background. Remember, no need to make the background below the substrate line! Can I construct the background outdoors? While this can be done outdoors, make sure the temperatures are between 60°F and 80°F and your project is not in direct sunlight. Extreme temperatures can cause expansion and curing issues. Can I construct the background indoors? While this can be done indoors, make sure you are in a well ventilated area; it is smelly before it cures.
