Now that I’m a bit older my skin is generally good, albeit a bit dry. I used a similar product from Bobbi Brown years ago called Extra tinted moisturizing balm and was so sad when it was discontinued. I’m happy to say that this foundation is very close to it. It moisturizes my skin and evens out my skin tone nicely and gives me a fantastic dewy glow without looking greasy. When I received the foundation, oils were already oozing from the jar. Not a good sign. Once I opened it, I could see that the ingredients had begun to separate, which was disappointing. It has a very sticky or tacky consistency, with a super-light coverage. So, if you want to achieve a balanced finish, it would be difficult with this product. It sat on my skin like a thick oil-slick. I have pretty dry skin, but I think this would clog pores and cause issues even in the most balanced skin types. There is a distinct odor from the foundation, but it wasn't offensive at all. That was probably one of the few plus points for me, because I could tell that the oils used were still fresh. Having said that, considering the oils that are used in the formulation, I think it would have been better to have them in dark glass packaging, rather than the clear glass that will allow sunlight to penetrate and affect shelf-life. Although this is targeted for mature skin, I don't think it suits those of us who are aging. Such a heavy, sticky formulation seems to work against our specific needs. I didn't find the coverage was sufficient and it didn't seem like it was buildable, either. If anything, the shiny effect seemed to accentuate my fine lines, rather than diffusing them. The scent for me was overwhelming. It did fade with time but holy moly. The color match was great I got porcelain. It covered my redness. It was sticky and I could not find my setting powder. I'm going to try it again with setting powder and see how that goes but very sticky. Made me feel a little glowy and not in a dewy face glowy good way. ... show more

I don’t understand why this product has such low ratings. I have tried so many foundations and none have been what I need. I’m a 48-year-old woman with very dry skin. I’ve tried products for dry skin that won’t sit in lines and I’ve tried products recommended for mature women. Nothing has compared to the Jones Road foundation. It gives me full coverage without sitting in lines, without caking, and without drying my skin. The scent is… Interesting. You don’t smell it once it’s on. It’s not bad— just unusual. It is not a deterrent for me. I have wasted so much money on other products. I love the Jones Road foundation! Please keep making it! ... show more

So...initially my sister bought this from the Jones Road website. The color (Pecan) was a bit too dark for her so I tried it. LOVED the coverage on my entire face with just a little bit of product. She gave me a little in a container to try at home for a while before purchasing a full size. That little lasted about two weeks of using it off and on ( not every day). I was sold...and decided to buy the full size jar myself. Being the frugal shopper I am, I didn't want to pay full price of $44 ($55 w/tax and shipping) on the Jones Road site. So I thought to check on Amazon. All of the other colors are in the $45-$60 range except for -wait for it - Yes, PECAN..only $9.00. What? Yes you read that right...$9.00!! Why is that? First thought: something wrong with it... It's old/expired, fake, etc. So I figured I'd order it and see what I get - if it's bad I'll just return it. Ok mind made up. I ordered three ($27 total). Package arrived yay! I took photos of unboxing. #1-shipped very well. #2/3-packaging looks authentic. #4/5-full size jar. #6-lid has a little oil on top. #7-looks like product has separated a bit and smells a bit like ointment. NOTE: at this point I grab the sample from my sister to compare the smell...same, but the new one is slightly stronger. (It kinda reminds me of how peanut butter smells when it separates the peanut smell is stronger, but when you stir it up, the smell fades and smells normal again.) Sooo, I stirred up the foundation to remix the separated oil back in. #8-remixed foundation with some spread out on a piece of TP-no lumps, granules or things that shouldn't be in there. #9-applied a little to my hand using foundation brush. It went on smooth nice coverage. Overall opinion right now is this is a great deal! I'll try it on my face over the next week or so and will update this review afterwards. ... show more

The packaging was fine on the product I received, but when I opened it, it had a strange smell and also a weird crust on the top of the foundation. I know that some of the other products by Jones Road, have a “seal “to the product that has to be broken so I thought maybe, that was why it looked crusty. I used a spoon to stir it and tried to put some on my face. The product is heavy, greasy, and not at all what I expected. I’m deeply disappointed in the quality of this product and I think that it is old. There is no expiration date on the outside packaging so I don’t know when it was manufactured, but I paid a lot of money to find out that this product is not for me. Also, the color that was recommended to me was too dark for my skin. I took the quiz on the Jones Road website and the color recommendation it gave me was too dark. ... show more

This foundation is wonderful! I am 53 years old and found that my skin was becoming dehydrated. This foundation moisturizes and gives a nice dewy glow. It is comfortable on the skin. I've been using it during the month of February. It may behave differently in the summer. But I love it for the winter months. I pair it with the miracle balm in the shade tawny. Love them both! They do leave a slightly tacky feeling to the skin that I had to adjust to. But it was an easy adjustment. I love how natural my skins looks and feels. Well done Jones Road!
