I used Johnny B mode gel for years and decided to try Fuddy. Works better than mode gel. A little goes a long way. I would have to use 3 times the amount of Mode to get similar results as Fuddy. Fuddy holds better than mode as well. All around better. I only wish they sold it in a larger size. 12oz is a little small. 36oz would be much better ... show more

Works perfect and doesn’t look/feel oily for my blonde thinner hair. Stays strong for days (I tested it don’t judge me) hair stayed in place from how I first formed it. You don’t need more than the size of a peanut for shorter hair style with damp hair when you rub it in and comb it. 👍

For about 5 years I had been using that blue gel from Johnny B. I felt that I would stick with it for a while because it was good. I then decided to try this yellow stuff just for the heck of it. Well, this yellow gel is even better. Why? As with the blue gel, a little goes a long way. Even though this gel might seem expensive when you buy it, the 16 oz. jar will probably last me several months, if not longer. Plus, the gel has a faint, masculine smell that is not overpowering. I can barely smell it. And, the gel is not sticky. It washed off my hands easily, and it doesn't make my hair feel greasy. It holds my straight hair very well. After the gel dries, I comb my hair and it stays in place very well. This gel is very good. ... show more

I bought this after my barber had used it on me after a haircut. I love the finish and the smell it had. I decided to buy this instead of the gel that I typically use just to try it out. I did find that the price point was quite expensive for the amount of product you get. If you’re looking for a matte finish and strong hold, this is a product you should buy. I’m not quite sure if I will re-purchase this since there are other brands that can give me the same hold and texture that I like. Maybe the smell will enough convince me to buy this again, who knows? ... show more

I have dark thick straight hair which I cut short during my teenage years and early twenties. It was easy to maintain and only needed very little gel if any to style my hair. Starting in my late twenties, I grew my hair longer and I have experimented through 10-20 types of hair products to style my hair and hold its shape during the day. Some worked great after I had my hair freshly cut, but didn't hold to the task after 2-3 weeks. Others would not hold throughout the day, and my hair would flatten at the end of the day...or worst the product would already start flaking! Three years ago, I changed hairdresser and got my first encounter with Johnny B's hair products. It was not Fuddy, but Mode. I really like Mode at first, but it did not hold through the weeks after I got my hair cut. So I kept experimenting with other products. Last year, the hair salon brought new products from Johnny B, and we tried Fuddy, and it has been the only product I have used since then. And I plan on using it as long as it is available on Amazon (hopefully forever). Fuddy styles my hair the way I want, and leaves matte finish, which I prefer. It hold through the day...and the next day...with no to minimal white flakes! It does get sticky to the hands after application of the product, but washing your hands with soap takes care of it. I really like that I can purchase the 16oz container for cheap on Amazon, and it lasts me a full year. This is the second container I have ordered so far. Very well worth the money! ... show more
