I have used the Mystery Oil for several years; bought the Care Set (Oil and Cream) when it was on sale not long ago. I have to say the two together get even better results. These two products together do an excellent job on all my boards, wooden utensils, and wooden knife handles. I've found that for me, it's easier to apply the oil by hand. I just drop some oil on the item and rub it in with my hands. Next day, I wipe the item with an old dishcloth that I have for this purpose. I use the same method with the cream. I've found the easiest way to get the cream (it's thick) out of the tube is to take off the cap, lay the tube down on the counter, and press the tube with the heel of my hand. Excellent quality but came a little dry. I can definitely see why people have cracking issues if the board is not treated properly from the start. I oiled mine several times a day for 4 days letting it soak oil every night. Then gave it 2 full days of cream. Might have been overkill but the board now has a lustrous sheen and took on a beautiful golden color. I like the product and it is easy to apply. I had the same problem others did with the Board Cream. The bottom of the tube busted and the wax came out the bottom instead of the top. I had removed the lid and seal but the bottom split open with the slightest squeeze. I use a kitchen clip to keep it closed. ... show more

The oil is great, I had a massive dry spot on the center of my board. The oil makes it look like new, even before the follow up board cream. The cream is a little difficult to spread evenly, but that's to be expected with a wax based product. Could possibly warm it with some warm water or something prior to use. May try that next time, just to soften it up a little. Some may feel like this is a little expensive, but if you have a nice board, it's something you want to take care of. ... show more
