There was a smell that I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. It smell almost like urine. As my husband was putting the bed together I cleaned our master and main bath thinking it was that. I mean I was cleaning the bathrooms but this is a new housešŸ˜’. I took a damp cloth and wiped the entire bed down with sensitive dove. I searched for months for the perfect bedframe when I upgraded from a Queen to a King bed. I loved my Queen bedframe and had specific requirements. This bed exceeds them. The quality is AMAZING. The instructions were very clear and it was easy to put together. That made my children happy since they insisted that they would put it together for me. So I originally bought a bed from Bed Bath and Beyondā€¦ it was so cheaply made and the headboard was way too short. So I searched high and low for something that was at least 60ā€ tall AND black. This bed frame appealed to me online arrived and when it came time to put it together there were a plethora of issues; starting with the first problem, the manual does not have clear instructions/diagrams that actually matches the product. Some of the photos in the manual didnā€™t match what was in front of me. If youā€™re a hands on person and can get around building things with ease, this will not be much of an issue for you but for the average person who plans on making this a DIY, be aware. The second issue, the quality of the material does not match the price point of this product. The head board had holes that were too big for some of the screws and therefore I had to improvise with washers and some of my own screws I had laying around that can secure the headboard parts together way better than what was provided. The third issue came when it was time to put together the boarder of the head board where as you can see there was three deep holes for 3 screws this caused a very tacky look and very noticeable screw poking out. I tried loosening it, but the issue with that was making the right side of the boarder weak and wobbly so I was left no choice but to keep it this way. The only good thing I can say is that the head board has great height, and is actually a full heard board unlike other manufacturers who sells you half of one for the same price of a whole head board. The fabric used is a very smooth suede with the tufted design, and the assembly of the wooden frame for the mattress was very easy thanks to the Velcro installation. Other than that, for nearly $500, Iā€™d say save your money and just invest in a different company as the results of this product was a huge let down as this looked promising based on photos and reviews. ... show more
