This rope doesn't seem to have an actual rating on it, only the word of the manufacturer that it is a climbing rope...YEA...NO!!! It's strong, I've used it for a lot of stuff...but nothing my life depends on! Really wish they wouldn't advertise like that.

I don't do a lot of climbing, but it will hold up great if you do climb. I have been using it around the house to pull stumps and help bundle wood. It works great for that as well. The rope does show signs of wear, but again I am beating it up pretty badly, any rope would show some wear. These heavy duty clips are amazing, makes it easy to tie up and drag heavy things. I have not used the gloves, but I doubt anyone is getting this for them. Very good product. ... show more

JIUXQT Climbing Rope I have looked at other safety ropes on Amazon and some have a plastic eye in the bight like this one, and others are metal. Intuitively I would prefer metal believing it to be stronger, but I confess I am not a rope expert so I do not know if there is a benefit to plastic over metal. Secondly, other safety ropes seem to be stitched together at the bight around the plastic eye, they are then covered with clear plastic heat shrink so you can see the stitching. There is no mention in the seller's listing if this rope is stitched but if it is you cannot tell as the plastic shrink is opaque yellow. I personally would like to know what is going on under the shrink wrap before I could trust this as a safety rope. The shrink wrap look and feels exactly the same stuff as you would use to heat shrink an electrical connector. I would worry about tear resistance and what would happen if a cut started at an edge, would it shear the whole length? SELLER'S AMAZON LISTING "Our climbing rope can be easily rolled into a roll, and the drawstring bag can be easily carried with you." Not sure if this is an error in the listing or an error in my shipment but my rope did not come with a drawstring bag. REVIEW PHILOSOPHY: I only review a product if it is something I am capable of critically evaluating through comparison, testing and use. This rope is totally overkill for all my purposes but if you are in the tree trimming business or you have a Cat D9 then you could use it to uproot just about any stump. I think it is also a bit too heavy for rock climbing work as the 64 foot version weighs about 8 pounds, from the description, but seems like more. I measure it as 5/8" diameter and it is stiff and not very compressible. As others have noted, there is no way to know how well or if it is stitched at the ends but I can see some threads of string in there. They rate it at 12KN (kilonewtons?) which works out to 2698 pounds force. I have a feeling that rating is quite conservative. They do mention about lifting an Elephant. If you need this massive rope then this will do it for you. ... show more

I feel like it’s always handy to have rope and carabiners on hand. This is a very nice set too. I am pleased with the quality of rope. I have used this for hanging a swing up for a bit and then now I’ve just put it in my truck for emergencies.

I needed a rope to do some tree work around my property. From the info/test certification provided by the seller and what I’ve experienced using it, the rope is very strong. It is a little stiffer than similar ropes I’ve used of the same size. This makes it more difficult to handle, coil, and tie. The outer cover is fairly abrasion resistant. I’ve used it to secure and lower heavy tree limbs and it’s held up well. As other reviewers have noted, the security/holding strength of the ends of the rope begs questions. What is actually holding the rope together under the yellow plastic wrap? Instead of metal thimbles, this rope has plastic ones. In addition, the yellow plastic wrap makes it impossible to see how the end is secured. This design may be perfectly fine, but it doesn’t instill confidence in using this rope for climbing or other safety-critical purposes. That said, it’s worked well for heavy tree loads in situations where the risk of failure is minimal. ... show more

I ordered the 64 foot version of this rope to help when felling a few large (mostly dead) pine trees. The rope itself is very thick, heavy, and extremely stiff. It takes a good amount of working the rope to loosen it up, and even then it's still more stiff than any static climbing rope I've used. Because the rope is so thick and stiff it isn't ideal for tying knots either. I attempted to place a figure-8 for a connection point in my rigging, but I couldn't get the rope to make such a complicated shape. All that being said, I would NOT recommend this rope for building anchors or life support while climbing. I do recommend this rope when used for rigging and tree work. You're able to quickly use the included locking carabiner and the built-in eye to rig up things you plan to raise or lower from a tree. The abrasion resistance also seems pretty suitable for running it over tree limbs when felling branches or whole trees. ... show more
