  • Actually works!
A friend had purchased an item similar from this from an Instagram ad and it was a joke. I ordered this for her as a gift and it works great and is what the other one should have been. You aren't going to split huge logs but it makes great kindling and it's kind of fun to use.

  • East to Use
This works so well to cut larger pieces of wood into kindling for our fire pit. It needs to be secured to the ground. So easy to split the wood! So glad we bought this.

  • Best product!
The media could not be loaded. This is the best winter tool that I have ever purchased . It is hard and easy to use to splitting the woods I need in this winter. You don’t need to worry that the woods is too hard or not, it always splits the woods perfectly. I would recommend everyone who need the woods splitter to but this product in this winter! ... show more

  • The concept is cool…
This is cool to cut up kindling as it indicates. You just have to have it secured to something else before using it. So in that way its kind of a pain in the butt. Once you get it secured in a permanent place, it works great. So while its easy to move around, you just have to secure it first. Otherwise, its well made and works great. ... show more

  • Great for making small kindling
This is a less expensive copy of the "Kindling Kracker," which was patented until recently. This is for making small kindling only and it just over 1 foot tall. It is not super high quality as the welds are not great and it started rusting in a few spots after being outside for a few weeks. It also weights about 20% less then the original version (which I purchased years ago) because it is not all cast/forged like the original. However, it functions super as a kindling spitted and it is really fun to use. You can split kindling in 1/3 the time it would take using an axe. Despite those minor issues, it functions 100%. ... show more

  • Now I don't have to be the only one to split logs into kindling
Before the arrival of this tool, it was solely my job to split the bigger logs into kindling for our wood stove. Now anyone in my family that can swing a mallet can do the job. This works better with drier wood and logs that are a little shorter than the safety ring. As other have mentioned you do need to secure it to a stump/chopping block. The welds aren't the best, but so far it seems durable. Time will tell how it holds up from use/abuse and the elements. ... show more

  • It works.
It definitely works well for the right size logs. Don't expect this to take all the work out of it. You're just flipping an ax upside down and hammering the log onto it, it still requires effort. That said, it is safe and easier than trying to swing an ax down on those smaller kindling logs. There is another review that strongly encourages that you nail this down and I will echo that. You will need to swing with some force depending on your wood and you don't want this kicking out on you. It is very sturdy though and can take a beating. Overall I am very satisfied with it. ... show more

  • Portable Camping Log Splitter
This is a fantastic log splitter if you're going to take it camping with you. It's fairly light and sturdy. If you're going to use it at home for your fire pit, it makes cutting kindling a breeze. That being said, it still takes some effort. I found that my 16lb sledge does a whole lot better than my 4lb one. The blade sits about 10" from the base, so keep that in mind when cutting your length of wood. This splitter has two holes in the feet so you could lag it to a more permanent-ish base to keep it from falling over when splitting your wood. For portability, I secure mine down with a couple of Ice Anchors with metal spacers into a large stump next to the fire pit. I am satisfied with this splitter and I hope to use it for years to come. ... show more
