This item is alright. It’s also very handy to have for you or your loved one. It definitely needs to be bolted or screwed down or someone could really hurt himself or herself. It does get in the way when getting in or out of the bed. Must put it closer to the top corner of the bed on the side you want. If not then it’s difficult to get in and out of the bed because it’ll be in the way. It fits between the mattresses and that makes it sturdy if the person is sitting or laying on it. But grabbing it while not bolted down could really injure someone pretty bad. Especially if he or she already has injuries or is disabled. It will definitely slip out from between the mattresses. This product was wrapped up in tape/shrink wrap for shipping which has destroyed the product. It is not removable. It’s a shame. The device itself is great, the packaging has destroyed the product.

Bought this for my elderly mother. Assembles easily. Arrived timely and was packaged well and arrived undamaged. You can screw the bed rail to your bed base and use it to pull yourself up in bed or just slide it under the mattress to use as a deterrent to falling out of bed. If it’s not screwed to your bed base it makes for easier removal as need be. Very nice bed rail. Served our purpose. ... show more
