My granddaughter is 5 and wants to have a tea party at least 3 times a week. The tea set is beautiful, but it is breakable. I have taught her how to carefully take the tea set out of the box and wash it after each use. She loves having her own china tea set and is very careful with it. I just received this today and was so impressed I had to review it immediately. First, the company is extremely conscientious about their packaging. It was packaged neatly and carefully in such a way that each item was perfectly protected (I don't need to post pics of that because many others already have). This is my first clue that a company really cares about their product. Next, each item appears very sturdy (cannot comment on durability as that is yet to be seen..but all the clues indicate it will hold up as well as any other porcelain item does) and the colors vibrant while the polk-a-dot design is subtle. The set is small, designed for a child's hands, but as an adult female with large-ish hands I was able to easily manipulate the set and it is just so dainty and delicate. I purchased this for my 8 year old's upcoming birthday, but I myself am excited to join her tea parties! The price when I purchased it was $36 and I believe that was a fair if not slightly low price for this item! ... show more
