This is a terrific saw. It's simple and straight forward to adjust the fence and compound settings for dead on, accurate and square cuts. The slide is pretty smooth, and shows no runout on the longest cuts. Where your cut starts, is right where it will end on the perfectly straight line by the completion of even the longest strokes. The only real gripe I have, is with the lazer. It's accurate enough to use for cutting, but it is possessed of 2 flaws. First is that the lazer is not adjustable. What they set up from the factory, is where it's going to show. With that, the beam is off square by around 1/128 of an inch. It's enough to see, but it doesn't mean your cut will be off. You just need to use the center point of the line for the cut, rather than the entire length of the line. Secondly, the lack of adjustability means that you can't chase the edge from a narrow curf blade. You compensate for that by giving the lazer a "schosh" for the smaller curf. If I could tune that lazer, this machine would be an expression of perfection. ... show more

Pretty sure this is a returned saw that was cleaned, fixed and sent back out. came damaged. Scratches, chipping paint, signs of use. But, it’s a tool, it’s gonna get worse, and seems to work fine so whatever.

    • Maybe OK for Rough Cutting but Not for Woodworkers

There aren't that many 10" sliding miter saws anymore. After searching for a while I saw this Jet Jet has a hit-or-miss reputation, but after reading the reviews I thought this saw would perform well in my small woodshop. Unfortunately it didn't work out so well. Problem 1: I replaced the blade with a Tenryu SL-25572 Silencer. This is a very nice 72 tooth blade specifically designed for miter saws. It cuts smooth as glass on my old Dewalt non-sliding miter saw. However, on this saw it left significant tooth marks. Problem 2: the fence wasn't square to the blade, I tried to adjust it but I couldn't get it square by moving the fence as there is little adjustability. I probably could have adjusted it by moving the angle index plate, but I didn't bother trying. Problem 3: There was way too much deflection in the arm, so the cut would wander, especially on wide stock unless you were careful to draw the blade perfectly straight. Clearly the sleeve bearings have too much play to properly support the arm. This could account for the ragged cut as well, or there is too much motor shaft runout causing blade deflection. In either case, either of these conditions are not suitable for woodworking so I returned the saw. ... show more

I have a cabinet shop and was looking for a second saw to use instead of the dewalt 12” compound saw for small detail but the 10” compound jet is a piece of junk there’s a lot of vibration when your cutting with this jet saw. you guys need to go back to the drawing board on the 10”jet because it’s not made for the wood working shop! ... show more
