Description

The JET JLH Compact Lever Hoist integrates safety, durability, and innovation enabling it to operate in the most demanding industrial environments. The lightweight design is achieved with a durable aluminum alloy housing that reduces weight for ease of transport. The dual pawl Weston style brake system splits the load to opposite sides of the ratchet gear for greater load security. Mechanical advantage is gained by the JET exclusive addition of the five-gear drive train requiring less force to lift or secure a load. Included is a nylon carrying case for convenient transportation, reducing trips to the tool room and prevents any unnecessary damage to the hoist. The JET JLH Compact Lever Hoist is available in 1/4-ton and 1/2-ton capacities, with standard lifts of 5, 10, and 15 feet (custom lifts available). Whether it's inverted, vertical, horizontal, or any other load angle, the JET JLH Compact Lever Hoist is the solution for your heavy-duty industrial needs. Also, it complies with OSHA Regulations, ANSI / ASME B30.21, and HST-3 standards.

What can say that has not been said!! It's a JET, so built like a tank. My wife was surprised at the weight of this compact hoist, but after explaining what it was to be used for she said "That little thing will lift the truck motor". Sure enough it was not even a challenge for it. I hooked it on to my Gantry and to the load leveler on the engine and up it went. My engine hoist has pretty much been replaced with this.     • You can't do much better than jet brand for chain hoists
This half ton compact chain hoist from jet is about as heavy duty and good quality as you can get. I've owned multiple products from jet through the years whether it be chain hoists or bench grinders and I've always been satisfied with their heavy duty industrial quality. This hoist operates very smoothly and is very easy to move in and out of gear and move the chain freely and neutral mode. It does not seem to jam up as frequently as some cheaper models do and it definitely has some serious hoisting power for its size. You can get one for less money but you get what you pay for and you might as well save yourself the headache of a cheap hoist and go ahead and buy Jet brand. This is the most bang for your buck by a long shot in the hoist department. Very small size is compact and comes with a little case to keep it in tucked away always ready for use. ... show more

It is well made, works very well, and has a good shape with a strong, durable chain. It is easy to use and designed in an ergonomic way. According to the specifications, it can tolerate heavy loads up to 500 kilograms, which makes it very reliable. It would be even better if they added a built-in measurement system to show the weight on the chain or integrated a scale, so it could also be used to weigh items. This is the first one of these I have owned. I got it to lift a large outboard motor off of my pontoon boat. Here are a few observations. The metalwork appears to be top quality, the ratchet operates smoothly, the hooks have high quality cast steel latches (usually the first thing to break on similar products), the bolt that attaches the hook to the chain appears to be smaller diameter than the chain but I cannot judge this- just an observation, the ratchet handle has a comfortable cover but it is close to the mechanism which may make cranking it a little awkward and the up/down switch appears light quality although the ad states that it is load tested to 125% capacity. I always look for country of manufacture when buying heavy duty tools. The distributor is an American company but there is no indication where the product or its components were made. This is highly unusual and the reason I am not giving it five stars. ... show more

This jet brand chain hoist, is indeed JET brand. Jet is the top-tier premier brand for tools, it’s actually so top-tier most civilians cannot even get their hands on it, you see this brand in higher end commercial factories This particular hoist is no exception, this little sucker feels like a wrecking ball, it’s rock solid. Just bear in mind it is rather small, I didn’t realize just how small it was gonna be when I got it, but it is small. It’s not the end of the world, as it is still strong, and given that it is jet brand, it will last a lifetime. Just bear in mind that this is not a grab chain style hoist where you have a spinner chain controlling a planetary yo-yo, this is a liver hoist so you need to be able to get your hands on the hoist unit itself and ratchet it kind of like a car jack. ... show more

    • Compact but tough little hoist
The JET JLH 1/2-Ton Compact Lever Hoist is impressively sturdy for its size. It’s compact, easy to carry, and great for tight spaces where bigger hoists won’t fit. The Weston-style double pawl brake feels solid and secure, and the ratcheting action is smooth with no hang-ups. The Grade 100 load chain moves smoothly with very little vibration. The 360° rotating hooks make setup easier, and the overload warning feature is a nice safety touch. Build quality seems good, from strong steel hooks to a comfortable handle grip. The handle is a bit close to the mechanism, so cranking can be a little tight in spots, and I feel like the hook should have a spacer/extension to allow for room to clear the handle, but these are minor nitpicks.
