My dogs have tried their best to destroy this with no luck. Its super tough yet has just enough give to it for them to love gnawing on it. I have a hard time finding tough toys that they don't just rip through within minutes, this one is absolutely holding up to the challenge

    • depends on your dog
only 1 of my 4 dogs will play with this, there is a silicone like smell to it. unfortunately the dog that I got this for which is the massive chewer will not touch it and in fact she runs from it. The dog that does play with it only plays fetch so it isn't being used for what it was intended for.

I have to say when I first got this toy I was disappointed. It's hard as a rock and equally as heavy. The only "soft" part of the toy is the rubber body and it's just a thin coating over the hard material. BUT my 2 large dogs want it, especially the 10 month old puppy. They take turns chewing on it. We've had it for almost 2 weeks and while the durable hard plastic has chew marks showing, it is nowhere close to being destroyed. The shape is still there just a little chewed on. ... show more

This is really cute but I’m afraid to give it to our dog. The plastic on the head and tail feel really hard and I’m not sure it’s safe. She’s get the Benebone fishbone and it’s pretty hard and there are no issues but I don’t think that’s plastic. This just doesn’t feel like something a dog should chew to me. The middle part, which is the body, feels like a normal chew toy. I’m not super comfortable giving this to our dog but I’m kind of a spaz so it might be fine. The toy is on the heavy side and quite big, so not for the below medium-sized dogs. It definitely has something in the rubber or plastic parts that attracts my dog since she immediately was into it and started to carry this new toy around and chew the plastic tail and head of this green crocodile. The only downfall of this heavy toy is then she drops it to the hard floor - it makes quite a sound, so we take it out for the night to reduce the wakening of the entire family. ... show more

It is a HEAVY toy due to the head and tail being made of a resilient heavy plastic material. When the toy is thrown or dropped indoors, it will clunk loudly. It is resilient as it has not cracked nor broken but...those two parts of the toy that are fun. The center portion, which is well-sized is the chewy fun part where it is carried and chomped.
