  • Solid
The media could not be loaded. Solid gaming set for the price. Don’t bother paying more unless you really jump up a couple hundred $$$.

  • Lightweight
Not a bad headset, lightweight, fits ok, not too tight could be a bit looser, ears soft, but I had buy an extender cord to plug into my cpu, the cord on the headset isnt long at all, so it ran me another 4 bucks to buy it but it works well and thats what matters to me. Sounds good when watching a video on the computer, I have to get used to it when I talk to someone like during a video chat, but they heard me just fine and I heard them. ... show more

  • Pretty good for music/youtube/casual, gaming not so much.
Became a fan of JBL after purchasing their Bluetooth portable clip speaker and heard the quality it emulates through the small speaker. So when given the opportunity to test this out I had to go for it. After a few hours (in span of days) of using it, here's my review The Bad: No 3.5mm audio splitter for the PC gaming aspect. You have to purchase that separately, so sadly I do not know how the audio sounds for the mic (nor can I give a review for console part since I don't play on console). That itself was already a bummer. Picking up precise auditory steps in fps games was a tad hard to pinpoint where the enemy was. I think I had a harder time pin pointing where the enemy was with this versus regular Earphones that you used to use for MP3 players/older phones when they had the 3.5mm headphone jacks, costing me games. I wish there was more of a barrier between my ears and where the audio was coming from since the mesh part was super thin, so my ears did hit the "metal" aspect from time to time (you can see the "metal audio" thing in the image showcasing the L R earcups.) PLASTIC. Never have I ever thought I'd try something that felt like I merged all fast food utensils together and created this headset. When seeing the item, I was expecting some plastic, but not the ultimate cheapest form of plastic there is in the world. It felt like if I were to toss the poor thing, it'll break airborne before impact. Pros: I'm no audiophile, but personally with the usage I did enjoy the headphones with, was listening to music. Theres the perfect range of Bass (personally) and thankfully it wasn't too overwhelming. As someone who wears glasses, I didn't feel like the headset was crushing against them or against my head harshly like most gaming headsets tend to do. It was personally a good experience for long time usage. Other: Its super lightweight. This alone can either be seen as a con for most folks, or it could be seen as a pro thing, hence why I left it on this section to be unbiased as possible for those who like it and dislike it. For people with big heads, the adjustable headband only goes up to 6 levels length. The mute mic button is in an awkward spot. I had to "test it" (again, I didn't have a splitter, so I was testing it for a gamer pov if they were to want to mute their mic) and it didn't feel right. Final: At the moment of review, this item costs $39.95. Its an ok-ish starter headset for lets say a child getting into gaming. Again, bare in mind if they're doing pc gaming, you need to buy a 3.5mm audio mic splitter since this item does not provide you with one. I suppose even as an adult who games primarily console, this is a ok alternative. Personally though, it wasn't for me. I do hope if JBL does decide to rework this headphones in a new model to make the plastic less plastic-y, and fix some of the sound when it comes to hardcore gaming like fps games. Not to mention include an audio splitter if someone is going to play on PC, because PC gaming is becoming more popular. Some big name competitors for gaming headsets do bring splitters for around the same price range, so just as a mental note for next time JBL. ... show more

  • Great headset
I love JBL so when I came across these I figured I'd try them out. They are made of the cheapest plastic I've ever held in my hands; probably cheaper than the spoon Wendy's gives you with a Frosty. But for me that's great, because it makes them incredibly light and I barely feel them on my head, and they don't have much clamping force at all. The earcups are made of cheap faux leather and the opening fits my ears just fine, unlike most other headsets I've used. The sound isn't perfect, but it's better than other headsets in this price range. The bass is there but not boomy; it sits back a little but is still very noticeable so there is no issue with things that need it, like footsteps. The sound is also very spatial, so you know exactly how far something is and from which direction it's coming, which is something some headphones don't get quite right. The highs are pretty high and sound slightly out-of-tune, so things like cymbal crashes sound a bit harsh and in your face, but it's not too bad with most games. Overall the sound is mixed sufficiently good for most scenarios. The microphone is a boom arm that plugs into the headset via 3.5mm connection, and it's pretty stiff. But thankfully it doesn't need to be bent in any specific positions to get the best pickup from it. It sounds pretty natural and not tinny, which is great when playing with people online. The box says it's Discord Certified, but Discord doesn't recognize it as such (other headsets I've used specifically say Discord Certified next to the input/output source) but that doesn't make it any less good for voice or video calls. I had no issues and no one has complained to me about it. Overall this is a great beginner headset, especially for the price; others in this range might feel better when it comes to build quality and earcup design/material, but not a lot of them also have the trifecta of good enough sound, mic and comfort (they usually only have one or two of them). So if you're looking for a cheap budget headset for yourself, a child or a gift, you can't go wrong with these. I even got a pair in black for the Xbox. ... show more
