Description

The award-winning Jazzlab Sax holder-XL is a superb alternative to traditional saxophone neck straps. It eliminate all stress from your neck and transfers the weight of the instrument across the shoulders and to the stomach using its patented three-point support system. This makes the instrument feel lighter, allowing you to play for longer periods of time without worry of neck strain or back ache. To use, simply swing both the shoulder handles up until they click into place, pull out the telescopic slide and rotate the abdominal rest and you are ready to attach your instrument. The holder provides great comfort for the player when in a seated or standing playing position and does not slip like regular straps can be prone to doing. It is made from a mix of aluminium to keep it light and Kevlar for extreme durability. Sax holder can be neatly folded away and placed within the bell of the sax for easy storage and is supplied with extra string in case of damage and a pull tie cloth bag for safe storage. SAXHOLDERXL is suitable for all sizes of saxophone from soprano to baritone, as well as bass clarinet and bassoon. Sax holder was awarded a Tools for Schools Award at the NAMM 2013 trade fair. This extra-large model has the exact same specifications as the original model but has been developed to cater for larger players. It is best suited for players 6'3" and taller.

  • Great for long playing sessions!
I bought the normal SaxHolder Pro and had to return it was too small. I'm 6'4" and 330Lbs. So I decided to get this one. I changes out the cord with the longer one as well. I love this thing. It takes the weight off your neck and puts it on your shoulders and belly. I have herniated cervical vertebrae and could not find any common neck strap that I could use comfortably; padded or not. This was a god-send. Now I can play for hours on end. I highly recommend this product! ... show more

  • Relieves neck pressure
As advertised, this neck strap offers excellent relief, especially for tenor sax. However, it is not very good for sitting position and tends to wobble.

  • Great solution!
Sax strap was really getting uncomfortable for my neck. This works great. I didn’t realize it came in different sizes and first one was too small. It was no problem to exchange. Great product!

  • Can be shortened even more if needed
Excellent sax harness!!! I can barely feel a tenor sax when I'm using this! I haven't used it with alto yet though. I'm a small guy, and when I got this and put it on for the first time I initially thought that it couldn't be adjusted short enough for me to not have to crane my neck forward in order to play, but then I realized that I could pull the cords, (on which the hook and the sax hang), through the back of the harness and tie a knot in them to make it short enough for me to play comfortably. Now it works amazingly! Also, the foot of the harness, (which should rest against your abdominals), works best in it's horizontal position. Genius design! ... show more

  • Not for bigger guys
I’m 6’2 220 and I never felt like my horn was secure. Maybe it’s my size but I’ve never used it on a gig.

  • Mixed feelings, 3.5/5 stars
I have mixed feelings about this. It does the job well, but also feels kinda cheap. I don’t care what the ads say, it doesn’t fit in the bell of my saxophone. That means I have to carry it in my hand. And I play bari, which means that if it would fit in any bell, it would fit in mine. It works a bit better when I’m standing than when I’m sitting since the weight falls more in front of me. It works sitting down, but not quite as well. Definitely better for rehearsals and gigs where I’m standing. If I was having to sit for a long rehearsal with a big band or something, I’d use a my Oleg neck strap that I’ve had for years. But, it does a good job of distributing the weight across my shoulders and it moves more like a traditional neck strap than harnesses do. I’ve never liked harnesses for my bari because of how the horn moves. I’d give it a bump up in recommendation if it fit better into a case or into the bell of the horn. Since it doesn’t, it just adds a yet another piece of equipment I have to schlep around. ... show more

  • Very comfortable.
Very comfortable. The XL-sized product may be large for people under 75 inches tall.

  • not just for saxes!
I use this for my bass guitar. It keeps my body better aligned- I don't have to twist or reach like I do with a traditional strap. It's a real back/neck saver. I can play standing straight an not having to hold the instrument. If your back hurts after a job give this a try: buy one of these. replace the strings with a 1/8" diameter lace/rope/paracord, running it through both holes. Must be long enough to reach both strap buttons on the guitar. tie small loops to hang the guitar at the strap buttons- find your height and balance points. tie single knots as stop knots on either side of the harness to keep the guitar in place ... show more
