This is very high quality. I can't say how comfortable it is on its own because I haven't tried that. I needed something flexible enough to add extra support to an rv jackknife sofa that's really too short to be a bed. This does the trick because I can fold one end over to make it fit, and I use a mattress topper over it. I can easily fold it in thirds and store it on the over-cab bunk. Perfect for people like me who like a very firm feel to their mattress- kind of like an upholstered rock, lol. This floor mattress doesn’t really have much give/squish to it, but that’s a good thing in my opinion. You can always add a pad or topper for a softer feel, if desired.

This was my second attempt at a foam-padded shikibuton, after the first was too flimsy and got flatter over time. I was impressed by the reviews and inclusion of a cotton cover, and entered with high hopes. Here are impressions after 2-3 weeks, which I will update if they change with more time. Mattress: This one is solid-feeling and substantial. It seems the advertised 3+ inch thickness and quite firm, such that I feel I’m resting on the shikibuton rather than on the surface underneath. Side-sleeping is comfortable without pressure points. I take off one star, and am looking at yet other options, because by the later part of the night I start to develop upper-back pain between the shoulder blades. This wasn’t an issue even with the thin and collapsing shikibuton I used previously, so I am a bit surprised. Feels as though maybe my shoulders do not sink in enough for straight spine alignment. Cover: Seems of at least as good quality as one I purchased for around $50 for a past shikibuton. The zipper operates smoothly and it fits the shikibuton with some room to spare. I machine-washed without problems, but hung it to dry out of an excess of caution, so can’t attest to shrinkage there. Overall I am impressed and would consider it a worthwhile buy even for a different shikibuton if they were sold separately. Portability and storage: I haven’t had occasion to weigh on a scale but it feels 10-15 pounds consistent with the description. It is too heavy and stiff to shake out like a blanket, but can be held up and kicked to knock off dust. It folds pretty easily in 3 sections and will stay in that shape after some pushing down, without having to tie or weight in place. Also able to be rolled with slightly more effort, but I had to brace it against a wall or headboard to hold that shape. Overall, I seem to be an outlier regarding the upper back pain, and I have not seen any defects or quality concerns. Quality seems good, it is reasonably compact and stowable, and the relatively low price and nice cover make it feel like it will not be too much of a loss even if I opt for another similar-sized shikibuton. As such I give it a favorable review although it doesn’t feel quite ideal for me. ... show more

I use mine every night, super comfortable and easy to fold up and put away. My wife snores so I sleep on this in my office and it's amazing. I prefer it over our multithousand dollar bed. Wish they sold extra zipper covers though.

Overall I like the feel and simplicity of it. It is relatively firm which is what zi wanted. Initially I wanted all cotton batting with a muslin cover like my first futon. It was a handmade, California king and made by a crafter in Chicago (whom I met). That was the best sleeping purchase I have ever made! In colder winters I could double it over and stay cozy and so rested. I wish I had never let it go! I really didn't want foam as I have experience all the vinegary odor and lack of durability before. This product had no odor at all. Time will tell on durability. It's simplistic to care for and the cotton cover is fine. I covered that cover with another polyester/cotton one. I think it has helped my neck and back also. The only real disappointment that I have is thinking it was made in the USA, only to notice the tags say Made in China. That is not indicated in any part of the Amazon online literature. If a company is an importer, they should have the decency to indicate the country of manufacture. The media could not be loaded. This must be the most comfortable floor mattress on Amazon. I’ve tried a couple others in the past from Amazon that didn’t have near the substance as this Native Nest mattress does. Because there is more substance to this mattress, it does make it a little harder to fold at first. However, it became much easier to fold after a few times of placing my pillow and blanket on top of it after folding it up. See attached video. So, if it’s a little difficult to fold at first, then just place something on top of it during the day for a couple days. Then it will remember its form and become super easy to fold! ... show more
