Seems I have had to buy a new backpack every year for my kids, but not this year. My daughters Jansport is going strong, I have been impressed with how sturdy it is, so I bought all my other kids the same bag in different colors.

So big so lightweight! My third grader is so proud to own same backpack as big kids in 6th grade. Color is so clean and will wear beautifully. Zipper seem really strong. Well padded straps and serves as a sleepover travel bag too. Versatile functionality

If this backpack had cost me $30, I would be giving it a 5-star rating. However, these backpacks have been getting more and more expensive over the past few years, and the quality seems to be lacking these days. The material is very nice and the pockets work great, but if you use public transportation and get caught in the rain from time to time, you'll be replacing this backpack each year. The zippers are annoying- the strips of fabric that cover the zipper tracks do nothing to repel rain and only serve to jam the zipper pulls and eventually break the zippers. Get a jansport backpack if you like the style, but add on a can of scotch guard to use inside and out before using it as your daily backpack. I have gone through three or four of these over the past three years and have since started using a proper waterproof rucksack when not trying to look stylish. ... show more

My family and I go up to Hocking Hills in Ohio several times a year and I purchased this backpack to take up there and it was a very, very well-made backpack. It was sturdy. I could put a lot of stuff in it. It wasn’t heavy. It was very light on my back. I highly suggest either a school backpack or a hiking backpack. It works for both. ... show more
