The wand is not good quality. The bristles fall off and onto my lashes, into my eye, and onto my skin. I also accidentally chose the brown color. If JI fixes the brush, I will probably order it again but in the darker color.

I have been using this mascara for years. At times, I tried others but always went back to purchasing this mascara. I especially like that it's in a tube that is flexible and I can make sure that I've used all of the mascara before I need to purchase another one.

I have to admit that I don't like this as a mascara...I know that natural mascaras are never going to be the same as the kinds that put all the junk in them but I tried and tried to layer this on my lashes and it just never looked like much of anything, even when I squeezed extra product out of the tube onto the wand (l love this packing for that reason). HOWEVER, since this wasn't thick or very dark I decided to try it on my brows and I really love it for that! It gives just the perfect amount of coverage on the hairs themselves and also gives it some holding power. So, instead of feeling like I wasted my money on mascara I don't use I am glad I accidentally got some brow product that I love! ... show more

I use this as primer product only. It has a tendency to clump just like any other mascara. The wand is a thickly bristled brush that is hard to use. Place at the base of the lash line and twirl the wand away from the baseline, but make sure the wand is not too thickly coated with product -- a lot of work. Let your lashes dry then follow with a lash lengthening product -- I use Thrive. ... show more

I knocked off one star due to pricing at $30.00. However, I see that amazon has lowered the price recently, so that's a good thing. As I've faced some health challenges and multiple chemical sensitivities, I've learned a lot about the importance of our choices for the things we put on our skin, our bodies and in our home environment. Jane Iredale cosmetics are rated very safe and I think the quality is very good. Other "safe" mascara have irritated my eyes or have no staying power. This one is great! My experience with this mascara is that it did not lengthen or thicken, it was oily and created racoon eyes easily. I purchased it in black, however, it does not appear to be a rich black but a soft black.
