I got my first kvm switch from this seller about a month ago and had some issues with the keyboard typing extra letters or not typing at all and my mouse not responding (I switched to multiple mice and multiple keyboards so I know that wasn't the issue). After messaging the seller, they tried troubleshooting with me and then offered a solution when they determined it was probably a faulty switch. I needed to switch two or more pcs - this device worked well for me. I occasionally needed to power reset the device - perhaps this is attributed to the fact that I put my laptop to sleep as opposed to shutting it down. The mouse had power due to this sleep mode laptop. I also reached out to them and they were willing to help me out. A gaming keyboard had a tendency for the mouse pointer to move, so just using regular keyboard. I hope they will revise their electronic design to address power coming from a sleep mode laptop that is connected to this device - the device seems to get power from the monitor too - there might be an optimum energy efficient design solution. It works perfectly. Brilliant idea to use unused signals on the HDMI connector for USB transport. The USB and HDMI split at the computer with only 6 inches (15cm) for the USB cable which caused a problem on one laptop that had HDMI on one side and USB on the other. Luckily I had a USB type A extension cable. Other reviews say you can cut up the cable insulation and get more length that way. One cable had the blue connectors like the photo. The other three were all black. Not a big deal but obviously just trying to package what they had at the factory. Incredible value. The idea is great: have a special Y-cable that takes video and USB from the computer so you have a very small device, powered by USB from multiple sources, without any cable clutter or taking up another slot on your surge suppressor or UPC. My Linux box and even my Amazon Fire TV connected just fine. My work MacBook Pro seemed okay at first. But my Mac Mini just WOULD NOT send a signal through. After unplugging everything else, rebooting everything, swapping out every cable, both the MacBook Pro and the Mac Mini grudgingly display video most of the time. Both are glitchy though, and throw flashes of static in my face every minute or two. Digging around online for what to do about flickering screens flashing static at you, the consensus on the forums seems to be "buy a better cable." And that's where the design falls down. You can't buy a better cable for this, because it uses its fancy Y-cables. Works great for my Linux and Fire (Android) computers. Probably would work fine for most Windows boxes, if you don't have a high-end video card for gaming. But just won't work well with Apple's snooty video hardware. ... show more

I was able to replace three sets of monitors/keyboards/mice with one and element all the excess cables. With all new laptops having so few USB ports on them, the Jancane could use some more USB slots.

Unfortunately I thought it was my computer for the 1st few days and now I have lost the box and one of the cables so I guess I can't return it. I'm gonna throw this away and buy something else I guess.
