I will start by saying that if you already know the DB5 and it’s story through they years of James Bond well, this book may not be for you. I knew very little so this book was a joy. It does have great sections of close up images of the actual vehicle, great pictures in general, and good info, but if you’ve seen it, may not be worth while. With that out of the way, this book is great. Seeing how the introduction of this car into Bond started with Aston Martin hesitating to even loan them 2 cars and making them return both of them at the end of production to having them custom make 25 exact replicas of the car with all the iconic gadgets inside 60 years later really shows how ideas in film can start small and desperate and become something so ingrained in pop culture. It’s also crazy to see how impactful the car was to the world when it was released. I’m sure some of this is played up a bit, but some of these images of crowds piling around this car in awe are truly crazy, unlike anything you’d see today. If you like film history and facts, good pictures, and cars, this book if for you. If you’re even just sort of curious by the idea of the book and inside of what you'll find, then it may also be fun. The book is a testament to the legacy of the DB5 in the James Bond saga. If you are a real Bond fan you can skip the NTTD parts and you'll be totally fine.

This is an outstanding coffee table type book. The large size allows, of course, some greatly detailed photos. The book also contains many details of the Aston Martin DB5 and all aspects of the movie modifications, use and subsequent ownerships. This seems a true labor of love.
