Look at nearly every other portable cooler on the market and you'll find either a single handle made into the top or two handles that come up over the top to form a single handle. That's what this cooler is missing. Just a simple handle so you can carry it with one hand. I should've looked at more photos than just the main one that shows it open before I ordered it. Sure, it has a shoulder strap that some will find useful. It has built-in handles on each side if you load it down so much that it requires two arms to muscle it around. Or you could try and carry it with only one of the side handles. But if it's loaded with drinks and ice, I don't know if the stitching will hold. In order to confidently carry it with only one hand, that may require wrapping your hand around the bottom of it and curling it under your arm. I'm sure that will be really comfortable after a couple of minutes of walking to the beach. Otherwise, the cooler has decent features. It has a thick wall all the way around to insulate the contents well. It holds 30 cans or so, which is nice. It doesn't look terrible. But it does smell like pure plastic when you first remove it from the bag. It will need some airing out. I got this for our upcoming family cruise. We can take some canned drinks onboard. I like the idea of putting them in this cooler and then strapping the cooler to my carry-on suitcase. Once the drinks have been consumed, I'll fold the cooler up and bring it home in the suitcase. But coolers aren't supposed to be larger than 12" x 12" x 12", and this one is larger so I might have to rethink that plan. There are things to like about this cooler, but how they left off a simple carry handle on the top is just a mystery... ... show more
